Scams offering fake Au Pair positions
by jakammo30 Fri Jul 15, 2011 5:17 pm
hi to everybody,

I am not expecting that i will be a victim of aupair scam. I'm really stupid i trusted that website http://usatravels.webs.com/ with all my heart. I just had a bad experience just few days ago with aupair scam. I did apply as an aupair nanny (easy aupair.com) to any country and there's a lot of family sent me messages and there's one family i love the most it's because of its nice and very interesting messages that no one can ever imagine that it's a scam. They sent me a contract which includes all the job descriptions and I agreed to that family which is JIM AND KERRY WEAVER. I signed that contract and sent it back to them. Then, they sent me a travel arrangemet with http://usatravels.webs.com/ and i am very happy and excited. They promise to do only my J-1 VISA for just 2 weeks and they asked me to pay for the total of $ 1180 US DOLLAR. They had a breakdown list for all the payments and i did believe enough. I had no second thought and i sent that amount of money to them just after one day they asked me through MONEYGRAM with the name Gloria Weidner 842 mahone Ave, Bismarck, ND 58503. Then sent me confirmation email that they had received the money. I had contact with the family of what's going on and mr weaver even give me a call from US to United KINGDOM just to make me feel i am in good hands. Not only once but thrice. I kept on sending messages to that family and the consultant agency which is usa aupair the website i mentioned above just to follow up my application. Then i received a message from usa aupair asking me to open an account for me to release my visa and they even managed to scan and sent me a copy of my visa to california wherein that time i started to doubt it's because they are asking to me to pay $ 1700 for the opening of my account due to immigration changes which they require an insurance and for them to release my visa and that was only the time i started to search and google everything that's why i found this site and begin to realize that i am really a victim of aupair scam and feel sorry to myself because that's the only money i earned and begun to cry and cry until now. Thank you so much for this site because i really needed help and i don't know what to do and whom to ask help to stop this scammers. I didn't yet inform them that i know already that they are scammers instead i kept on sending messages just to follow up my application and until now i haven't heard any. I also asked mr weaver if he can help me to pay for the opening of my account and said that cash is tight because they are having renovations and see how can they help me but until now i haven't receive yet any messages from him. I did email usa aupair with different email add saying them that they had no heart at all and they even manage to sent me back messages saying ok. because i told them that they have to pay all the consequences that they made to all the victims. I'll send to you or post their email messages for more information and to avoid them. Thank you very much and hope this can help.

Hello

How are you doing, thanks for getting back to us we're really happy
you are interested in this job. I wanted you to know more about the
girls and our family so I wrote you a little something. We have two
daughters, Alice is 5 years old and Betty is 3 years old. They are all
pretty similar Betty always wants to do what her older sister does and
Alice wants to be just like mommy.

They both love playing with their toys and playing dress up, they have
lots of friends and spend time in the kids playground. We try as much
as possible to have some quality time as a family at the weekends
because our week days are all filled with work. We go see movies or to
the park or museum. Every once a while we take them by their school
and we hook up with the other kids and parents and have some fun.

When it comes to food I must say we are quite indifferent, We could
anything if it is cooked right and the girls are quite the same. When
it come to preference we do like Italian food and French wine. We have
a pool so we do spend time there for some R and R, a family close by
has barbecues every month and its a special occasion in the
neighborhood and you'd be invited to come with us too.

We live in a very good neighborhood in San Francisco, California, lots
of families, kids, malls, schools. It really peaceful and a very good
place to raise your kids. Some of the other families do have au pairs
here I am just not familiar with them but I guess when you come over
you can get to know them.

My husband is a pilot for a private airliner and I am a nurse at the
local hospital.

I hope you enjoy my little write up about my family as much as we
enjoyed reading yours. Get back to us and let us know if you are ready
to take this big leap.
Cheers!
Jim, Kerry and Kids

Good day!

Good to know we have sorted some things out regarding your duties, I'd
like to confirm again how long you intend on staying and how soon you
can start. We need to sort out things concerning your trip here.

when our last au pair was coming over, we contracted travel
consultants who handled and arranged her flight here within a short
period of time. Here is their website http://usatravels.webs.com/ and
their email is [email protected], send them an email and find out
what you will need to get here. They were very efficient and we were
all very happy with them. I trust they will do well for you too. We
will cover the cost of the actual flight (Plane Tickets), while you
will cover the cost of procuring your visa.

I hope your passport is ready because you will need it. I also need
you to provide me with your full name, residential address and contact
number.

We'd really love to hear back from you so have a wonderful day and
don't forget to smile.

Usa AuPair!

Dear Applicant

We have finally heard back from Immigration they have written us an official letter which is attached to this email stating the condition for the issuance of your visa.

Apparently there are new rules requiring higher insurance packages for au pairs. This means we have to get you an insurance package immediately it will not be wise to waste any time on this. Your visa has already been issued we managed to get a scan and it is attached to your email. We need the Insurance documents so it will be released to you.

Firstly we will need to open an account in your name with a minimum balance of $1700.00 and then pay $200 for the insurance. The $1700.00 is NOT a payment but a DEPOSIT, this money you will collect when you come to the United States. All documentation and access to the account will be sent to you.

We have already registered you on a health insurance package and the documents for that are in their final stages and we have made a deposit at the airline for a booking so we need a date of departure so we can finalize on your ticketing. The visa is the most important though so I expect your reply in this regard so we can sort it out.

Yours In Service
Scott Carter

Hi jakammo, I'm sorry to read about your misfortune. The Weavers are well known to us here
viewtopic.php?f=42&t=20015&p=58663&hilit=Weavers#p58663

Unfortunately, any money you have sent is gone, and cannot be recovered. Do not continue to correspond with them, they will eventually offer to help you, and will ask that you pay some fee or payment to process your claim.

Bear in mind it is necessary to check if au pair jobs are available to people from the country you live in.
If you are from Phillipines no begging or pleading will get you a VISA to UK for this . Also visit the websites of the Government immigration Department of whatever country, to see what the regulations really are.
Scammer will present plausible rules, often invented, that are nothing to do with the actual rules.
In the UK there are agencies that will deal with a visa for you, but they are merely instructing you on filling forms and in the end you have to deal with officials in the Immigration dept who issue these visas. It isn't just a slip of paper, it is attached to your passport pages and you will need to send that to the government department to get it. Don't give your passport to a 3rd party and photo copies are of absolutely no use at all. It will be obvious where to send it to and any other address will be fake. It won't be a money transfer via Western Union etc.
