Scams offering fake Au Pair positions
by felicity06 Sun Jul 17, 2011 3:40 pm
Hello Dear,

We are a friendly happy family of three. We live in London and there
are many au pairs and English schools in the area. The area is very
pretty and safe with lots of local parks, cafes, clothes shops nearby.

My son needs help with breakfast and at tea time, and also we need
help with the cleaning and laundry, occasionally walking him to
school, helping with reading bedtime stories. He loves swimming,
riding their bikes and going to the park. In the summer he loves
splashing in the paddling pool and bouncing on the trampoline.

You will be free in the afternoons as soon as you drop him off at
school, which is helpful if you are interested in language school. You
will have a single bedroom, which is downstairs so your own private
space with a toilet next door. Your bedroom has TV, DVD, and stereo
and internet access.

The hours are 30 hours per week with up to 2 nights babysitting,
Saturday and Sunday days free. If you prefer to buy your own food
there will be food allowance on top but we will love you to eat with
us as a family.

Kindly send us your resume (CV) for perusal and we will get back to
you with our contract offer. Cheers and write us soon.

Warm Regards,
Bill Taylor for the family

Here is another email from this scammer. It is near-identical to the one sent by the scammer calling himself Alan Reid. You can see this here:

Hello Dear ,

I hope you are doing great? The content of your mail has been noted.
Thank you for your mail which shows your seriousness in my job offer
and my wife and I appreciate that a lot. My wife works as a health
worker and my I work in Nuffield Hospital as a doctor. I am a soccer
fan, I love Arsenal so much. I also love watching Barcelona and Real
Madrid. My wife also love reading novels and baking. My son loves
basketball and we have a little hoop in our backyard and we hope you
can play with him. We would want to know when it would be convenient
for you to join us. You will not be working on weekends because my
wife and I do not work during the weekends unless in really special
circumstances and it’s only then you will be required to look after
my child. We almost always take our son to school in the mornings and
so need someone to pick him up after school most afternoons at
3.15pm.He goes to a nearby school and it is 15 minute walk away. You
will need to make tea for him - and us occasionally if you would
like! You need to keep his room tidy, make his bed, dust and & change
the sheets weekly. You need to do his ironing and keep his clothes
neat and tidy. You need to supervise his homework and piano practice and
most of all HAVE FUN! We are usually home by 6. I will be paying your
flight ticket for your trip to London. My son is 5 years old. We
would love you to start as soon as possible but this is negotiable you
can also suggest a date.

We are looking for someone to muck in and help out generally as any
member of the family would. You will need to babysit a couple of times
a week and also be happy about us popping back to work in the evening
if you are at home anyway. We need someone to be flexible - as we
will be if you would like to take time off if your family visits or
you have a holiday. When we go on holiday as a family you will
usually be welcome but we can also arrange for you to stay home of
you prefer.

My wife and I have gone through your mail and we are impressed with it.
I have contacted my lawyer and asked him to prepare our Contract
Offer; I will be sending you the Contract Offer once it is ready, but
before I send you my offer I would love to know you better. Please
answer the below questions.

1) What are your aims and objectives in life?

2) What kind of person are you( your likes and dislikes)?

3) How do you intend to impact positively in my son’s life?

My wife and I are really excited about having you in our home and we
hope we will all have a wonderful time together as a family. Hope to
hear from you soon.

Warm Regards,
Bill Taylor for the family
