Scams offering fake Au Pair positions

I've searched for the UK Border Agency and here's what I've found out.

Temporary workers
This section contains information about the routes available to temporary workers who want to come to the United Kingdom to do temporary work for a licensed sponsor.
You must have a job offer from a licensed sponsor, a valid certificate of sponsorship and pass the points-based assessment to be eligible to apply. You should read the eligibility requirements for your category in full before applying.
Applying on or after 27 November 2008
If you are applying on or after 27 November 2008 you will need to apply under either the temporary workers category or the youth mobility scheme within the points-based system.
Our service standards set out how quickly we aim to decide applications for living in the UK as a temporary worker. The standard for applications made under an employment route, including each of the categories below, is that we will decide 75% of applications within four weeks.

Schemes that closed on 26 November 2008
The schemes listed below closed on 26 November 2008.
Au pairs
Gap year
Japan: Youth Exchange Scheme
Visiting religious workers and religious workers in non-pastoral roles
Overseas government employees
Voluntary workers
Working holidaymakers

So, it only proves that they're not hiring Au Pair anymore!

Hello Liza,

While the au pair program no longer exists, it is not true that UK no longer allows au pairs. There is an option for people from EU and specific countries. UK does still allow au pairs through a program that replaced the au pair program. It is called the Youth Mobility Scheme. However, it is important to know that the only way to get a visa to work as an au pair is through this program, and this program is limited to only a few countries outside the EU. The Youth Mobility Scheme is described here:
http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/workingintheuk/tier5/youthmobilityscheme/

What is the youth mobility scheme?

The youth mobility scheme is for young people from participating countries who would like to come and experience life in the UK.

The countries in the scheme are:

Australia
Canada
Japan
New Zealand
Monaco

If you are a national of 1 of these countries, you may be able to come to the UK under the youth mobility scheme. Your national government will be your sponsor.

British overseas citizens, British overseas territories citizens and British nationals (overseas) can also apply under the scheme, and do not need a sponsor.

Scammers routinely target people in countries like Philippines, one of the countries that is NOT included in the scheme. If you are from a country that is not in EU and is not involved in this scheme, and you receive an offer to become an au pair, it is a scam.
