Subject: We are looking for a new Au pair

We are the Hatton family,We are looking for a new au pair to become a valuable part of our family here in sunny Southern California. We live in Laguna Niguel, right next to Laguna Beach in Orange County, about 60 Miles south of Los Angeles very close to the beach! It is ideal for au pairs who like to get out and about walking, cycling, etc! Brighton is 15 miles and an easy train journey away.

We are a very relaxed, consisting of Gary, Joanne, Joseph and our friendly dog Luka. outgoing family who leads a hectic life not just with work but with our private life..Worthing has a selection of English language schools which our previous au pairs attended and very much enjoyed, getting their necessary qualifications! Joseph is (nearly) 4 years old....he is a very loving, caring, understanding and forward little boy. He is very active, loves being outdoors on the Downs and going to the beach. He is always smiling, good mannered and (generally!) very well behaved. Our previous au pairs have loved him dearly and remain good family friends of ours!!
Gary and Joanne both work shift work at KVCV airport(in security) and leave for work at 0300 hours on a 5 day on, 3 days off rota.
We also have, besides our lovely dog, some chickens and a horse!!!

We expect our au pair to become an integral and important part of our family. She will primarily be looking after Joseph who attends nursery school 4 times a week. The au pair will be
expected to do light housework, ie. Ironing, cleaning, vacuuming, emptying the dishwasher, etc. whilst Joseph is at nursery. When he is not at school it is your responsibility to play with him, do drawing, games, take him to the park, etc. You will need to be flexible, understanding and considerate as we work shift work, starting at 0300hrs!!! This means we have have to go to bed early too!

You will be responsible for getting Joseph's breakfast, taking him to nursery locally or if not at nursery taking him to the park, swimming or some other activity until we return home
from work early afternoon. Each afternoon is your free time! You will work 5 mornings then have 3 full days off!!

We expect consideration whilst living with us, particularly in respect of us having to go to bed early. We must emphasise that Southern California is a very big city no late partying/clubbing please consider this! There are also different colleges and universities close by where you could enroll in educational and/or cultural courses and there are a lot of other Au pairs in our area who you can meet so you will have friends when you arrive. So if that sounds interesting to you, just drop us an email ([email protected]) and feel free to ask us anything you would like to know
