Scams offering fake Au Pair positions
by B_informed Sun Sep 11, 2011 4:19 am
I RECEIVED A SECOND EMAIL FROM THE SAME PERSON pretending to be a "family"
DESPITE NEVER ADDING THIS 'FAMILY' AND WAS NOT ADDED AS A FAVORITE BY SUCH A 'FAMILY'
EMAIL: "James Donald" <[email protected]>
When I asked for membership # as the http://www.newaupair.com website suggests, he sent the following email:

Hello,

We liked your profile and decided to contact to be our Aupair. Since we have established a communication with you, my wife suggested that we close our profile in the Aupair site.

If you are interested in working for our family kindly send your your up to date CV/Resume or Alternatively, you can send some important information about you YOUR FULL NAMES, CONTACT DETAILS, INTERNATIONAL PASSPORT NUMBER/ID NUMBER AND PHONE NUMBER) to enable our lawyer to prepare an Appointment Letter and other travel documents for you. We Love you and sincerely look forward to welcome you to our family. Feel free to call any time via the phone numbers below.

Wishing you a very happy and fulfilling day.

IT ALSO IS VERY STRANGE TO RECEIVE SUCH AN EMAIL AFTER SENDING A COMPLAINT TO THE NEWAUPAIR WEBSITE. THE NEWAUPAIR WEBSITE HAS NOT CONTACTED ME AND HAS NOT SENT A CONFIRMATION EMAIL REGARDING MY QUESTIONS / CONCERN DESPITE THEIR REQUEST FOR MY EMAIL. THANKFULLY I DID A 'SCAM' SEARCH AND FOUND THIS WEBSITE WITH VERY SIMILAR EMAIL POSTS ABOUT AU PAIR.

Hello B_informed, and welcome to ScamWarners.

Thank you for posting this scam mail.

When a fake host family is reported to an au pair website, the website usually deletes their profile. The scammer frequently then claims that he closed his profile himself, after choosing you as an au pair. This is just an excuse that he is using to justify his disappearing profile!

This scammer will have written to many many au pairs. Now when they google his email address, they will be able to find your warning about him here, and be saved from having their money stolen by him. Can you also post the telephone numbers the scammer used, in case another au pair googles these as well?
