I have been looking for a nanny job in UK and this guy name Andrew Pendleton ask me to come and work for him. After I agreed he said I have to pay 500P as a refundable deposit and he gave me an email to his lawyer.

Here is the conversation:

We are a busy, happy family

We live in a lovely area with lots of colleges, parks,

horse riding,
shopping centers and only 50 minutes from center

United Kingdom

I am sure you will find lots of things to do when the

children are at school.

We live in a big house where you will have your own

bedroom ensuite bathroom, wifi and tv. You would also have a car for

your use.

If you think you will be able to help us take care of

our children, please contact me.in my mail,

About my family.

We are a young international couple with two lovely

Boys. My name is
Mr Andrew and my wife Charlotte
stephen 7 years old, , goes to bilingual international
schools since he was 1 yrs old and speaks spanish very

fluently and
english although not as fluent (that´s why we need

bilingual au pair).
We also have Harry who is 4 yrs old and totally

british, we would like
you to teach him about your culture.

Harry loves to play guitar, ride horses, play at the

park, swim, play
archery, football and lots of other activities.

Harry loves his CARS from the Disney film, loves to

be read stories and
also play at park, he is very active, sometimes bouncy

like tigger.

They are both very good, sweet and loving little boys,

polite and very
obedient, although some times they do have their bad days as we all do.

They are both very easy going and I am sure they

would love to play with you and to show you all the things they like to do.

I will be paying you 1500 Pounds every 4weeks and a pocket fee of 200 Pounds weekly which I suppose should be Okay

I hope to hear from you soon.

Best Regard

Dear users, I did post some information about Mr. Pendleton and after I spoke with his "Lawyer" I am sure this is all scam. This is what his lawyer said:

t is my privilege to write you this official letter which i am to let you know the Conditions
Or Reasons for such prospective Nanny/Aupair who want to undertakes/work there host family...

The reason for the contract Agreement is because in the past 2 MONTHS some Aupair/Nanny that
came to the UK stole there host families Money and gold and then ran back to there various
countries.

For that reason the Government of the UK gave a rule that any Aupair/Nanny coming to the UK must
sign a contract Agreement with there host family before stepping the UK.

The Government also said that any Aupair/Nanny coming to the UK must sign a contract Agreement and
also make a REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT FUNDS OF 500 POUNDS which will be Refunded back to them at the end of there contract Stay with there host family.

The Government said that if the other Aupair/Nanny that stole there host family Money and golds
have already signed a Contract Agreement and also make a refundable deposit funds that they are
very
sure that the aupair/Nanny will not run away with there host families things just like that.
Because
they will want to end the contract and Collect there refundable deposit funds back.

I hope you can understand the reason for the contract Agreement.

I took my time to explain this to you so you can understand the reason for the contract before
signing it.

Yours Faithfully,

Barrister Williams

I combined your two threads to keep all of the information in one place.

As you suspected, it's definitely a scam.

No legitimate au pair offer involves you sending money to a family or anyone they refer you to.

In addition, the writing is clearly mostly cut and paste, with only a little bit of the scammer's own writing--but there is enough of the scammer's writing to tell me he is NOT British. The mistakes are consistent with an African author.

You can see the scammer has used the same description with different fake names here:

Dear Dotti,

thank you for your reaction. Yeah, this scammer wasnt very smart, he sent me an email saying he had 2 boys and when I asked him for a photo, he sent me one with 4 girls and one boy and said that the one boy and girl are his kids. Not very smart thou....Still, I checked the name of the lawyer and there is really a lawyer his name working in London. I hope this information gonna help to others.

The scammer has chosen someones name that fits. This may help somewhat.
