I didnt know that this could be scam so I was in contact with a lot of people especially JACOB WARD. After we agree about working conditions UK HOME OFFICE contact me and ask to send money via Western union. I didnt do that, and I start to google and I find that that is scam. I didnt send money but I sent scanned copy of my passport and I scare now! I dont know what to do? Please help

In most countries, a copy of a passport is not enough to do much harm. While scammers will sometimes use the names and passport photos of previous victims in emails, it only happens in a small percentage of cases, and typically it is very easy to prove that the passport belongs to an innocent party.

The truth is, this kind of scammer usually asks for a passport scan to make himself look like a real employer, not to steal identities. However, I'm not familiar with key identity information in your country--so I would recommend contacting your local law enforcement or passport office to find out whether there are precautions you should take.

Hello! I also registered on mydearaupair and got conntacted by families which since I learned, thanks to Scamwarners, that were trying to scam me. A man called Antony Brooks, had a lot of other aliases, the profile was the same " 40 years old, Guidance Counselor, his wife a Nurse, one child", also a woman who said she was from New York, 2 kids, Mary and Joe, Shannon Bruckner. I started asking her for details about the children, and how come a travelling agency can get me a Visa( sent me an e-mail adress of a "travelling agency" that I should get in contact with to sort out my Visa, working permit, ticket) ? My sister had to go the USA Embassy here in Romania when she went to work as an aupair in Boston. This " Antony Brooks" said that his "barrister" works at the UK Border Agency and will sort out everything, I don't have to pay anything. I already worked in the UK and I only had to send some papers to the UK Border Agency, didn't cost me anything to get my aupair card so I found what he said really strange and started digging around. He also sent me photos of him, his wife and daughter. Hopefully I'll be able to post the e-mails they sent me. I think this mydearaupair site is full of scammers, tried to deactivate my profile but is says the page doesn't exist!!! Can you help me???

Subject: McClintock Family From My Dear Au pair.

Dear Au pair,
We would be very happy to have you in our family to share new experiences. We enjoy in meeting people coming from different countries and cultures and would like to give such great opportunity to our little Boy. We live in UK. in a very quite area but not so far from underground to reach city center and all monuments and attractions in UK...Our family is composed by Mum (35 years old), Dad (40 years old) and Mark 4 years old. Mum and Dad are working during the day from Monday to Friday, while Mark is at the, playschool until 16:30.

We currently live in a 5 bedroom, 3.5 bath, 4 car garage, 3600+ sq feet house and you would have a room to yourself with your own full bathroom, in separate part of the house - so you would have your own privacy. We can also provide you with a vehicle to drive our children to/from school, their activities, and anywhere else you may need to go. We will offer you free home and board, as well as free food, and will pay you a total of 200 pounds per month If that is okay with you..

We expect our Aupair to make sure our kids get to school, complete their homework, afterschool activites. Any time that we are out of town, we will need our Aupair to cook healthy meals, take care of our children, maintain the house, watch after our dogs, and ensure our children are well taken care of (we do have a cleaning lady that cleans the house) during our out of town business. We do have family vacations and you will come with us wherever we go, and would want you to become part of our family. We would like you to also teach all of our children as well as my husband and myself the your language during your time with us.

We have some Question for you..

1Why do you want to become an au pair?
2.What do you enjoy most about working with children?
3,.Have you been to the United Kingdom before?
4.Do you drive? How often? Do you have an International License?
5.Have you ever bathed or cooked meals for children?
6.Who do you live with at the moment? If you live by yourself, how will you feel about joining a family and having to respect its house rules?
7.What type of relationship do you have with your family? How do they feel about you coming to UK for a year?

We will be so much happy if you can answer thoes question..Hope is not much...Waiting for your reply soon..

Mrs Sarah McClintock...
- She's saying that they have one son Mark, than goes on saying that they expect the aupair to take "the kids" to school...
I've sent one of them my CV, it has my address, photos of me, should I be concerned about that???

Hello Lia87, and welcome to ScamWarners.

Thank you for posting about these scammers. Yes, the third one, from Sarah McClintock, is a a scam as well.

Au pair scammers write to lots of au pairs at the same time, and all of these au pairs will send the scammer their personal details, and usually a CV and photographs as well. The scammer is not really interested in these things (he only requests them to appear authentic), and will not usually even bother to look at them. His inbox will be full of personal information, CVs, and photos from au pairs, and it is very unlikely that he will pay any particular attention to yours - so please don't worry about that.

Unfortunately, most au pair websites have many scammers also registering there with their fake profiles. If you have trouble removing your profile from one of these websites, or any other query, I suggest that you contact the website directly. On the dearaupair website, for example, you can click on 'Contact Us' at the left-hand side of the page. I'm sure they will be happy to help.

Hello!
Thank you for Your help! I've tried to contact them. I have to fill out a form with my name and address and it won't let me write Romania where it says country so I haven't been able to ask them for help to delete my profile! On the other hand since I've wrote to those people that I know its a scam I haven't been contacted by other "families"...
