Scams offering fake Au Pair positions

Is Terry Scott a scammer or does he really need a Au pair? I haven't e-mailed him though, because I just have a sense that, just like everyone else in the net, he is also a scammer.

Scammers change names often, and they use names of real people too, so in order to tell you, we would need to see any emails he sent you (we may be able to tell from his profile if you don't have emails).

I will say that instinct is usually right. As a general rule, if it feels wrong to you, it probably is.

If you use google to look up the email address "[email protected]" there are a few examples of the advertisement that can be found, for example a posting on frogads.com which I quote below.

The text of this advert is extremely suspect - it has numerous characteristics that are exactly like many other fraudulent au pair advertisements out there.

Yes, that is a scam.

It may also be helpful for you to know that citizens of very few non-European countries are permitted to go to the UK as an au pair. You can see the small list of who can become an au pair in the UK here:

http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/visas ... ityscheme/

If you also click on 'Working and conditions' on the left hand side of that webpage, you will be able to confirm that this is the correct visa for au pairs.

It is also impossible for a non-European to go to the UK as a domestic worker (eg nanny, housekeeper, driver), unless they have already been working for that family for at least one year in another country. You can confirm this here:

http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/visas ... igibility/

Please don't continue to write to this scammer. There is no real position on offer; the scammer's only intention is to steal money from you.

Thank you very much on those information.
I hope those scammers will get their bad karma.
