Yes, that is a scam, and the Bureau Immigration Consular Officer is also fake, and is part of the scam. Could you post the email address this scammer is using? That will help to warn other au pairs about this scam, when they google that address.

In reality, the US Government currently allows 13 sponsors only to run Au Pair programs in the USA. You can read about this here:

http://j1visa.state.gov/programs/au-pair/

http://j1visa.state.gov/participants/how-to-apply/

And you will find a list of designated sponsors here:

http://j1visa.state.gov/participants/ho ... =&x=14&y=8

You must go through one of those agencies if you wish to become an au pair in the United States.

You would still need to apply for your visa yourself, at the US Embassy or Consulate in your own country. You can find the website and contact details of the US Embassy in your own country here:

http://www.usembassy.gov/

Scammers pretend that they can obtain a visa for you, but this is not true.
