Dear Au pair

We just finished viewing your profile on easyaupair.com and we were
very impressed. We have been looking for someone to look after our
kids since our last au pair left and we feel you are the right choice.

We are a family of 4 with two lovely daughters Amy and Alice, we live
in the Sub-Urbs of San Francisco, California. Its a beautiful city you
are sure to love it here. The job pays very well with reasonable
hours. There is so much more to discuss so if you are interested in
moving to California get back to us and we will gladly work things
out.

Have a nice day!
Mark, Karen and Kids

Hello

We are really glad to hear back from you and even better knowing you
are interested in our offer, first we’d like to tell you about our
family. We have two lovely daughters, Alice and Betty who are 5 and 3
(we have attached photos for you). They love to play together and
little Betty always wants to do what her older sister does and Alice
wants to be just like mommy. They both love their dolls and spend time
with the other kids in the neighbourhood. Karen is an E.R nurse at the
city hospital and I'm a pilot for a helicopter and jet service.

We do a lot of family stuff together when we get the chance, like take
trips or go skiing. There are lots of fun things to do in this City
and we’re sure you’ll like it here. Thanks for all the information you
sent us about yourself and the timing is good we don't mind waiting
for you. Maybe we can have a chat on skype as well though the timing
may be difficult. Also send us your number so we can give you a call.

We hope to hear from you soon with what you think and any questions you have.

Cheers!
Mark, Karen and Kids

Dear xxxxxx

It's really nice to hear from you again, you seem very interesting and
we feel sure we have made the right choice, let’s hope to make your
stay with us the best time you can have. Our last au pair was great
and we had so much fun with her so hopefully everything will work out
just as well with you.

Its a fairly big neighbourhood with a couple of schools close by I'm
sure you could find one which offers English courses. Yes there are
other au pairs, none that we know personally but when our last au pair
was here I know she made a couple friends. Here is a description of
how your day will look like

From Monday to Friday

You will start by 8:00 am in the morning, get the kids breakfast ready
and get them dressed and packed for pre-school. If we are not home you
are free to drive them to with of the cars or you can get a taxi.
While they’re at school you will take care of the kid’s laundry, light
housekeeping, grocery shopping, etc.

We have a meal plan for the kids so what they’ll eat will already be
sorted out and there will always be cooked food available but you need
to heat it up for them. You’ll get the kids back from school by
12:00pm and from then on it’s up to you on how to keep them occupied,
there playgrounds where they can also be with other kids.

One of us should be home by at 6:00pm and that’s when you close for
the day so we expect the kids to be home and cleaned up by then. If we
ever need you to stay over time we will work out a scheme on how to
pay extra for that and you get the weekends off as well.

You will have a room in the house for free, it comes with its own
bathroom, a TV and a laptop. We have wireless connection in the house
so you can communicate with people back home anytime you want. You are
always welcome to join us for meals if you choose.
You should always think of yourself as family because that’s the way we see you.

We will give you more details on how to sort the visa out, we helped
our previous au pair and she got hers done really quickly.

Best Wishes,
Mark, Karen and Kids

And this is where I found out that even this family were scam!
_________________________________________________________________________

I did the research for all families at the same time, copying information in the mail and paste in google.
Very effective! It was very hard to find the last family as scam, but I tried to take diferent information from the mails and finally I could find matching mails on this page!

I hope this will be to use for a lot of au-pairs.

I have learn that you shouldn´t go as an au-pair private (if you don´t have contacts who know the family).
Now I will be going through an agency instead, much safer!

Hello glaskupolen, and welcome to ScamWarners. Thank you for posting these scam mails - and well done for taking the time to research the people who you were corresponding with.

Regarding the last fake family, Dr Collins and Sarah Richard, I noticed that the telephone number +447930234587 has been used in many scams:

Click here to see some examples

It was a good idea of yours, too, to google parts of the text of the emails - scammers sometimes use original sentences in their emails, but genuine families do not use sentences copied from other host families, and certainly not copied from scam mails!

Hello Au pair,

I saw your profile on the Au pair site.

We are a British family living in London, UK. I work for Royal Dutch (shell petroleum). A British Based Multinational Oil and Gas Company.
I stay in No 13 Queens Avenue, London .

We currently have son aged 3 years old, we looking for a Au Pair or Nanny from Any Country that can speak English and is willing to stay with us for a minimum of 6 or 12 month(s).

About Our Family

We are a professional couple, living here in the UK .Our kid are fairly easy going and relaxed, they would enjoy someone with lots of energy and enthusiasm.. Having English as a first language is not required and in fact, we would entertain the nanny speaking to them in
her own mother-tongue..

We only seek a Au pair for basic child care and light housework. If you accept to take a position with us, you would be paid the sum of £2500(Two thousand five hundred pounds sterling) with a weekly pocket money of £400. Hence we are doing anything that would motivate the intending Nanny to put in her best in taking care of our children.

You shall have a private accommodation with furnished sitting room and bedroom and also a private bathroom. A Fixed land phone and an Internet ready computer.Do well to send us your references or resume & also an update picture of yourself, and we would get in touch with them. Should the outcome be positive, we would send you a Contract Letter. We shall discuss travel arrangements in due course of which I would be of generous assistance to you. You can reach me on my personal mobile to indicate your interest. My Number is +447012993512 or [email protected]

We sincerely look forward to hearing from you.

Best Wishes

Hello Au pair,
It was nice to get to hear from you,i told my family about you and they love it, so I have considered hiring you for your services. However as regards your flight ticket that will be handled by me and also some other relevant documents you might be needing to proceed into the UK,but you have to take care of your work permit fees nothing much I presume. So if you agree with these terms please let me know so that I can have my lawyer issue you your contract/invitation letter and also all the necessary details on how to obtain your traveling papers.
But first let me tell you a little bit about my family,

we are down to earth people not arrogant,we respect our employees opinion very much, our kid are the most adorable things on the face of the earth we love them so much and so will you I hope.We are also easy going people my wife and I.

I leave for work early in the morning 7.30am,my wife is a seamstress so she is a little more around the house than I am,our kid attend school he leave at 8.30am come back by 1.00pm.we are a religious family as I am an engineer not full time though cos I still have to work for my family.

Hi!!

I had very bad experience with the scammer who pretends that he is a Family Carol (David Carol) on the address 78 St Park City of Westminster, London, UK. They even sent me the contract which I had to sign and where they explained me my obligations. After that I got the e-mail from the UK home office (it was fake e-mail but i didnt see at the beginning) with the application form and all the instructions what I have to do to get the travel document. They demanded that I give some money ( 1350GPB!!) on my name via Western Union and that would be some kind of Insurance. But when I realised that it is not need to do anything to work as an au pair if you are from EU I found out something got wrong.

Also Jewell Rachel who is already mentioned in that topic wrote me on my e-mail but fortunately I found her on that forum. Thanks god. :))

Here are some e-mail from the Carol family:
