Scams offering fake Au Pair positions

The following email was received in response to a listing on an Au Pair website. This is a scam, no vacancy exists the scammer will try an scam you out of money by asking for fees or travel costs or accomodation costs.

I am Mr. David Woodruff, 40 Years Old from United Kingdom I work with Scotties Multimedia Consultant in United Kingdom and I don't usually stay home unless during weekends. My contact address is 202-206 Regent Street, London W1R 7DD, United Kingdom and my phone number is +447024054549. I have just two kids which names are Philip and Linda and there ages are 3 years and 5 years old. I want an Au pair nanny for them because they are the only one left at home after their Mother divorced me for another man, well that's a long story.

Your duties will be taking the kids to school and bringing them back home, play with them, go to museums, playground, watching movies, prepare/serving their snacks and foods. You will have your Private Room which will have Bathroom, Toilet, Television, Air-Conditional. You will have access to the Internet and a Telephone at home to get in touch with your friends and loved ones. You will be having Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays as your off days, so to enable you have enough time for yourself. As for your salary, I will be paying you 1,800 Pounds every 4 weeks and a pocket fee of 400 Pounds weekly which I suppose should be Okay by you and as regard to my family picture, my scanner is currently bad. I will try to go to the cybercafe so I can get it scanned then email them to you Okay...

If yes, kindly get back to me immediately & tell me more about yourself and would also like to know if you have a valid United Kingdom visa and work permit to live and work freely in London, United Kingdom, If you don't have visa and work permit, I would advise you email my agency to help you for the United Kingdom Visa and Work Permit and here is the link to contact them ([email protected]), If you contact them let them know you are from me {Mr. David Woodruff}, explain to them all you need for the traveling to United Kingdom and I want to let you know I'll be helping you with an half payment that the agency ask you to pay for the visa and work permit, this is just to assure you on how serious I am about you coming here to work for my family as an Au pair, the job is already yours.

Attached is my family pictures, hope you'll like them. I will be very grateful if you respond better to me....You have nothing to worry about you will be treated like one of the family and you will have 5 days to work in a week and 2 days as your off day that is Saturdays and Sundays. You will have the opportunity to do what ever you want to for you own good on weekends...

Here is a further reply from the 'travel agent'
We like to inform you that, we have received all your necessary information. Do note that a copy of the United Kingdom Visa Form which you are to Print, Fill, Scan and Resend to us will be forwarded to you after we receive your payment. We however urge you to send your payment so we may proceed in processing your Visa, Work Permit and other Backing Document(s).

Please be informed that the £1,000 (14 Months) has been included with the Flight Ticket (British Airways) and the entire necessary Document(s) needed for the Visa and Work Permit and also the National Insurance, so we like you to send the payment via Western Union Money Transfer. All payment should be sent via Western Union Money Transfer to our C.E.O with this information below:

This weekend I have received two emails regarding the above. I knew straight away they were scammers - who in the right mind is going to pay so much money upfront and wax lyrical about themselves.

Nannies/mother's helps/au pairs (especially) all over the world be aware!!!!!

Yes, that is another scam, I only skimmed through but the 4470 phone number stuck out.

Thank you for posting, it may well prevent somebody else from losing money to this scam.

Hi, thank God that I've checked this site and checked the address and all the info that was given to me by the so called family that's needing an Au Pair/Nanny. Oh my gosh! It's a good thing that I don't have money to fall for that thing that they have :laugh-s: . But yes, I'm almost scammed by this people. Internet truly rocks! Thank you guys for posting this information... :)
