The following email was received in response to a listing on an Au Pair website. This is a scam, no vacancy exists the scammer will try an scam you out of money by asking for fees or travel costs or accomodation costs.

Hello Au pair

We are a family of 4 living in Edingburg,UK looking for an Au Pair to start in August of 2009. Two children will be a priority. The two children are school aged, and at the time we require an Au pair. Our Au pair will have the evenings to herself with the exception of the very occasional evening (perhaps one per month). The weekly wage is ?320.00.Jadakis is 7yrs while Chi is 5yrs they are both used living in the company of an Au-pair and likes that very much. I must admit that we are not that much at home and an Au-pair is a real help for me and the family. It is the person I can count on and trust on. I would like to know if it would be okay for you to come and join us for a year.

We are looking for a long term Au pair, who can commit to at least 1 year. However, we would prefer an Au pair who is willing to consider 3 years or more.If you are interested, please take contact ! See you later

I might ask you to help will baths and a bedtime story. You will be free at the weekend (Saturday & Sunday) I would normally go out on a Friday night but if you wanted to go out then I would say we could change it and I go out the Saturday night instead. It's is important that you understand that you are our Au pair and while you are staying with us we will try and make you feel welcome sometimes it might be hard for what ever reason simply cause you are not a family member so while most Au pair's want to be treated like part of the family sometimes it just doesn't work out that way. We will not treat you bad.... So please do not worry. I guess what I mean is I will see you as a person an adult. (ie) if you want eat with us that's fine if you do not want to eat with us that is fine too. I wont get upset. You will be working for me so please do not expect me to act like your father I have 2 children of my own and do not need a third.

So if you want to go out go as long as I know when and if you need a lift home make sure you inform me before I have a drink (sometimes I go to my Dad's house on a Sunday and we have wine with our dinner)So you need to be a mature person and be able to think for yours elf and if you have a problem you tell me the problem and we will sort the problem out..My kids names are Jadakis and he is 7yrs and he is very intelligent,while Chi is gonna be 5yrs next month.Wow Chi likes playing around the house but she might be naughty at times.

You have to understand that we need family time too.I will like to know if you know how to drive and also need to know if you have a valid passport for issuance of work permit visa.Do you know how to cook,i also need to know if you have worked with any family before as an Au pair.If yes then can you give me reference.Click the link to view my family pictures.

Furthermore,i like you to know that,you will be the one to shoulder for the cost of your processing documents and also your Air ticket.I have received so many mails from different people and at the end of the day what i get as a response is that i should help them get over here and they have a salary deduction,if this is what you are looking for then,do not bother replying to this mail.

It's important that you use your free time to go out and enjoy yourself and not be stuck in the house all the time. Being an aupair is very hard work and can be mentally hard in other words the kids can drive you getting mad.lol We reside her e in United Kingdom.

But if you are happy to go and do your own thing then we wont have a problem. Most of the Au pair we have had in the past have not had a problem with as your here to explore UK and learn English and they want to go out.We will be able to refer you to the travel consultant that will process all travel papers for you once we get a response from you. I guess I just want you to be understanding to our feelings too...and we will try and be the same about yours

This scammer is very cagey and tries to insist on speaking to potential victims on the phone before progressing them. I finally managed to get past that and receive the next email from him
