Welcome to Scamwarners, machris!

This is a scam. The travel agency, <benztravel airways> (benztravel.co.uk), is real, but the scammer is using ms celine scott <celinescott_agent@yahoo.com, which is a free email address. If she was really representing the travel company she would be sending emails from their domain.
Would you please find the headers from the email that you received from the scammer - jane williams<[email protected]> and post them here? We may be able to see where the message was sent from.
I'm glad that you looked into this and didn't lose any money! :D

Welcome machris,

As Helen has already stated, this is a definite scam.

One other thing that I would like to point out is that travel agencies do NOT have anything to do with visa processing. You would deal directly with the embassy in your country, not a travel agent, and not someone else that a future employer instructed you to email.

Hi machris,

as Helen said, this is definite scam. As additional red flags, their English is simply not English; moreover actually is nearly impossible for non EU citizens to get the visa to work in UK, while EU citizens do not require any visa to work in UK.

hi can you help me how will i know if the advertise for the au pair is real and the agency or employer is real and not a scam pls help me... thank you
by Chris Fuller Sun Feb 12, 2012 5:52 am
Hello machris,

Most au pair scammers pretend to be living in the UK, USA, or Canada, so it is useful to know the real regulations about becoming an au pair in these countries, as this will help you identify the scammers.

UK

At this present time, a person is only permitted to go to the UK to be an au pair if they are a citizen of the European Economic Area, British Overseas Territories, Taiwan, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, or Monaco.

If you are not a citizen of one of those countries, then I'm sorry to tell you that you are not allowed to go to the UK as an au pair. If anyone tells you differently, then they are not telling you the truth, and are probably a scammer.

You can read about this here:

http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/visas ... ityscheme/

If you also click on 'Conditions of your stay' on the left hand side of that webpage, you will be able to confirm that this is the correct visa for au pairs.

USA

The US Government currently allows 13 sponsors only to run Au Pair programs in the USA. You can read about this here:

http://j1visa.state.gov/programs/au-pair/

http://j1visa.state.gov/participants/how-to-apply/

And you will find a list of designated sponsors here:

http://j1visa.state.gov/participants/ho ... =&x=14&y=8

You must go through one of those agencies if you wish to become an au pair in the United States. An individual family in the USA is not permitted to directly engage you as an au pair.

Canada

There is no au pair programme for Canada. It is, however, possible to go there as a 'Live-in Caregiver' if you have received at least 6 months' training or at least 1 year's full-time paid work experience as a caregiver, or in a related occupation.

Please see this website for the further requirements:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/work/careg ... ly-who.asp

Some people may also be able to go there as part of the Work and Travel Program. You can find more details about this, and relevant links here:

http://www.aupair-world.net/index.php/visa/canada/

hi, need some info...... is a nanny job in london or UK is possible to offered here in the phlippines. or we just say first the job order to say if this is real... thank you
by Dotti Sun Feb 12, 2012 12:32 pm
No, it is not possible for someone from Philippines to work as a nanny in UK, including London. It is prohibited according to UK law.
If you are in Philippines and receive an offer to work as a nanny anywhere in UK, it is a scam.

Machris. You should only deal with the reputable agency you contact from an advert on their website. Any email address should at least have an ending that agrees with the- @nameofthe site.com - for example. Any ad out of the blue that arrives at your mail box is a scam. Scammers have got your email address on their mailing list and know what you want , and will keep on. You can forget coming to UK, I am afraid, it won't happen for you legally I am afraid. I am sorry about being truthful, but I am sure you want to hear that, rather than me or us all beat about the bush and mislead you. However the moment someone tells you you have to send money using Western Union or MoneyGram for any reason then you know 100% scam . Please also be aware of what payment you could expect to have in any country. I see you are quoted 400% greater than expect amount above. It is a lie.
If you really have a job then I know that an employer would say, " Don't worry about the money side. We will help pay for it and make the fee payments for you in advance. You can pay us back a bit at a time when you are here." All these Doctors and Bankers and Lawyers do not need advance payment of a few hundred dollars or pounds. You can do visa applications yourself and very easily, using your own language at the Embassy in your country. Scammers do not want you any where near an Embassy! The moment you see a suggestion of sending a photo copy or scan of a document to an agent, It's a scam. Only originals will do. If you see a reference to or get an email from a Barrister then- Sorry it is a scam.
We don't want you to worry about this and you really are free to come to this site and post your next offer of a job.
