Welcome to ScamWarners Sweetcassie. We really need more information to help you out.

Did the check cashing place actually accept the check and give you cash for it?

Did you get instructions to cash the check and send money to the person who sent it to you? If so it is a scammer and you got cash for a forged document. It will eventually turn up that the check was forged and it will be traced back to you as you had to give identity information to the check cashing store.

If this is what happened, I would encourage you to print out the emails you received, contact the police about it and tell them what you did with the check. Do not spend any of the money you received as you will need to return the money. You probably should contact the store you cashed the check at and tell them what happened too. You may need to contact a lawyer for legal advice. We cannot actually give you legal advice. The police cannot give legal advice either.

Sadly, this happens all over the world every day. I know that won't make you feel better.

I moved your post to a different topic area so it will get more input from others.
