Thank you, Kistynka, for posting the headers. Unfortunately, in this case, the sender's IP address has been replaced by Yahoo's own IP address, so we can't tell which country the email was really sent from.

We know that it is a scam, though, so that is the most important thing!

You can also see identical scam mails here:

Ola: you may have already seen my reply to you about finding a legitimate host family here:

Hello, I got probably another scam, twice a week, it is crazy:

As you have read from our family profile we live in the southern part of Norway. 1 hour's drive south of Oslo West (Capitol of Norway) by car, or 1hour and 15 min. by train, or 15 min from airport Torp. As you may know, Norway is a relatively small country with only 5 million inhabitants, but we have a extremely fantastic nature of summer and winter which at times can be very charming, and it is a country with relatively many and strong traditions. But best of all, norway is a fantastic country where we have a good health care and we can all have a good social network and feel safe. This was a little advertising about our own country, but who are we, the family who want to share us 100 % with an aupair in the next year or two.

I will try to describe a bit more about who we are, our family and our everyday routines.

I am the father, separated from my 25 years younger wife. I have actually 4 children (girls) but 2 of them are 20 and 21 years and have already moved out from home to their own apartments in the same town. Beside my children we also have a beautiful dog, a black flat-coated retriever. My two remaining daughters who live 100 % with me, have aged at 14 and 15 years. My daughters go to regular school in the community.

My youngest daughter at 14 has a great passionate interest in dance and ballet. Outside of school, this is her life, she has training almost 5-6 days a week. Currently this is more important to her than the boys partying and fun. She is good at most of the summer activities and has also been good at skiing downhill. Do not be afraid, I promise you if you want that we, safe and well, will teach you to learn skiing as well. Otherwise she is a bit messy in her clothes and what comes to clean her room, but she is a lovely and fantastic daughter.

My next daughter at 15 has a bit more common interest in youth (party) and fun with friends. In her life, boys and friends what is most important of all. As a father I try to inform how important education is, but this is not so easy to understand. Same problem in all families. She is otherwise a highly reflective young girl who is the starting block to becoming an adult.

Our families daily routines: My two daughter gets up at 7:00 in the morning and then go to school which starts 08-30. I get up a little later but go to work at about 09:00. The children come home at about 15:00 to should then actually read and do homework. At about 17:00 to 18:00, we eat dinner and then relax with our / their own activities or to relax with TV or watch movies /films. Generally, the house goes to bed at about 23:00, but …………

Now we are told little about our family in broad terms.

We will also tell a bit about what we want from you:

1)We want a nice, friendly and very honest young lady between 22 - 27 years.

2)You must be able to speak fairly good English so we can have a good communication.

3)You must be a good looking, representative and a good role model for my young girls.

4)If you can cook meal / dinner, it is of course a great advantage for you and all.

5)You must be able to help with some housework, tidying and cleaning and shopping.

We can offer the right candidate

A)Free, fully equipped - own apartment - at 48 square meter, with a bathroom - living room - kitchen and bedroom, totally included with furniture. Separated from our house.

B)Car for appropriate disposal if needed. Good- fair and square salary, and we will agree on a full-fledged contract, of course according to the law of Norway and gen. international rules for aupairs.

C)Fully personal insurance for you, while you stay in Norway as a aupair, for our family.

D)A nice and friendly open family with lots of humor.

E)Concerning round trip ticket. We will of course pay your ticket from your country to Norway. However, we also pay for the ticket home to your country after end agreed working – period.

F)If you wish to go home before we have agreed, it will be considered as a breach of contract and agreement we make. In such a case, we will possibly pay half of your ticket cost as what and why is the reason of home trip. If such a situation arises we take a communication on that.

Finally, we have then the following question for you :

What are your future ambitions ?

What goals do you have of the job we offer you?

What salary do you have ambitions of or for ?

How and what is your work setting ?

I will inform you that we and I acquire as much knowledge of you as possible, both with letters, stories about yourself your family and your life in your country in general.

Please send us a lot of pictures, that often tell more than 1000 words.

Sincerely and best regards from

Families xxxxxx

Hello Kistynka,

This email from Norway doesn't show any typical signs of a scam at the moment, therefore I will remove the contact details for the host family's privacy. You were correct to include these - they are helpful - but we only leave them in posts when we can confirm that the details belong to a scammer.

If you are interested in an au pair position in Norway, please check this website of the UDI (Norwegian Directorate of Immigration) for the rules and requirements:

http://www.udi.no/Global/UPLOAD/Publika ... air-EN.pdf

Make sure that you always follow these real regulations, and check also with the Norwegian Embassy in your own country.

I notice that the UDI states:

You must live with the host family for the duration of the contract period and have your own room in the host family's home

but this host family states:

We can offer the right candidate ... own apartment .... Separated from our house.

You would need to check with the UDI/Norwegian Embassy whether this excludes the family from partaking in the Norwegian au pair scheme.

There is further information for EEA citizens (in Norwegian only) here:

http://www.udi.no/Oversiktsider/Den-nye ... llatelse-/
