It is worth mentioning that aupairconnect.com is a legitimate site, it is just being used by the scammers as a means of finding victims.

Please do not tell scammers that they are listed here - it will take them seconds to change their fake details and their new details will not be listed for any future victims to find.
by Skjuludde Sat Sep 19, 2009 3:49 pm
As i'm pretty sure this is a scam too it never hurts to post it and get it checked and if it's a spam posted for others to know.

So ya is this a spam?

subject Needs Au pair for immediate employment!

Your details was sent to my family by a family friend who is a registered member with aupairconnect.com

We are German/British family living in Rose Street,Midlothian Edinburgh-Scotland. We seek to write your consent after recommendations from our family friend regarding our urgent need of an Au pair to help care for our only child aged 4 years old. Mother is a medical doctor and father is a company director. We live in a 6 bedroom semi detached Victorian house with a large garden just 5 minutes walk from the bus stop, the train station and shopping facilities. Cleaner employed. The au pair will have their own fully furnished bedroom with shower room. Babysitting is Monday -Friday 20 hours a week and weekends are free. A driver is available and the au pair will sometimes have use of the car if they can drive. The family wishes to find a responsible au pair. My work takes me abroad sometimes so it would be necessary to have a responsible person who could run the house without me or my wife around. Both male and female applicants will be considered.

A very attractive salary to be paid to Au pair every 4 weeks and traveling expenses will be taking care of by the family.

Your Immediate response along side with your profile to the family via e-mail will be appreciated.

Regards,

Mr. Spencer Brandon

The language made it an obvious scam to me (I've read a lot of scam scripts), but I'd say the biggest piece of evidence is that the address of his 6 bedroom, semi-detached, Victorian town house, is in fact a steel and glass building home to a skiing equipment shop LINK.

Please keep posting any emails and offers you are unsure of: we love to help.

I am sorry another scam. If it sounds too good to be true - it is.

But you are doing well and learning the signs to recognise scammers. Well Done :=)

Also this post will alert and save others from being scammed.

Proof here - with slight detail alterations;

http://www.findaupair.com/forum/display_topic_threads.asp?ForumID=7&TopicID=5588&PagePosition=1

Note also - No reputable travel company would make use of a free mailing address like Sify.com.

Also the written English and grammar are very poor for a "magistrate"

Hi Ana

Welcome to Scamwarners

I have removed your details from your post, your online security is our first concern and you are exposed every time you leave your email address posted on the internet.

In answer to your question, from what you have provided I can see that it is a scam, well done for spotting it.

I have done a few searches to find some proof for you but my rushed searches came up with no results, that said there are a couple of key indicators of a scam

The travel agent using a yahoo email address
Being refered to a travel agent who will sort out visas and tell you what you need to do
The email is not addressed to you

Please do not reply and eventually they will go away.

Please also be on the lookout for more scams which you are now likely to receive

Dont hesitate to ask if you have any questions

Your responsibilities/typical weekly schedule
My ideal au pair must have experience with children and enjoy spending time with them and should be responsible, active and have a positive attitude. I will need my au pair to work 20 hours a week. The typical schedule will involve getting Ailis back from school, making her lunch, and taking her home after school activities. You will also need to get Ailis dressed, feed her, put her down for naps, and play with her throughout your working hours. We are an active family and would like our au pair to take the girl outside to play or on walks at least once a day if the weather is nice. We are a very neat family so I would like my Au pair to help keep the girl's room tidy and do the girl's laundry. dressed, feed her, put her down for naps, and play with her.

My families' interests and weekend activities:
We are a very active family and we like to go to concerts, see plays at the local community theater, play tennis on weekends and take hiking trips. We would love to have an Au pair that enjoys swimming as we go to the beach at least twice a month in the summertime and Ailis likes to spend the entire day splashing around in the ocean pretending to be a mermaid. Lilly (the family dog) loves Ailis and we all go to the park on Sundays. We hope you love the outdoors and pets too. We try and sit down to dinner together as a family each night and talk about the days events. This is very important family time and we hope to have an Au pair who enjoys being part of our family.

My home description /community:
We live in EDINBURGH, MIDLOTHIAN-SCOTLAND, is a lovely suburb with tree-lined streets. Our town is quiet, and very safe. There are also a lot of fun activities for you to do nearby in your spare time. There are 2 major shopping areas, beautiful parks, great restaurants, quiet cafes and many other entertainment spots. There are also 2 colleges where you can enroll in courses.

Once again we congratulate you and look forward to welcoming you.

Thanks.

Hi Oncheck and thank you for posting. Can you please also post the header for that email? (remove your own information). The domain it was sent from, upslogistictech.com, appears to be fraudulent and being used by the scammer to support the scam. We can report it to have it suspended and the hosters usually like to see a header for the email. If you aren't sure how to retrieve one, we're glad to help.

Here's the information on the domain, which was just registered on September 20. http://whois.domaintools.com/upslogistictech.com
