Hello Mary_18777 and welcome to ScamWarners.

Yes it is a scam.

There are a number of factors that give it away, such as the English used (which is indicative of an African writing); the salary offered and also the +4470 phone number, which is a personal redirect number that can be answered anywhere in the world.

Please do not tell scammers that they are listed here - it will take them seconds to change their fake details and their new details will not be listed for any future victims to find.

Thank you so much and may God bless you guys for your help!

Yes they are a scam. What they have told you is lies! The phone number is a re-direct one and not a UK number. viewtopic.php?f=26&t=13567 is an earlier posting that better describes these phone numbers beginning with 4470.

Thank you so much. Actually I'm very upset to know about that of course.... But thank you for your help!
Do you know is there any websites where I can put their names that other people were saved from them.

Could you tell me what do you think about these letters?

Dearest,

Thanks for the quick reply. Hope you are enjoying the Easter. Well i do not understand what Agency of yours you can be talking about but i have been propelled to hire an Immigration Attorney to help in the processing of your legal traveling papers.

As for your salary, we will pay you 750GBP for a month and 80GBP for a week for the duration of your stay with us.... We can as well review your salary based on performance and well being of our kids. As for duites, you are only required to care for the kids and teach them also in your own Language if you chose to do so... Prepare for their Meal.

I have already submitted a soft copy of a contract agreement letter to the Home Office and now we are waiting for an approval. Hope you will wait for this?

We are willing to work with you and be your family because we want someone who can be able to fit into our family and be somewhat close to our kids. We believe you are the one.

Waiting to hear from you.

Best Regards,

Mr. Boris Lake

Yes that is another scam. The quoted salary is wrong for an au pair position and it is also not possible for a au pair to apply for a visa via email or through a third party. It has to be done in person at the UK Embassy in your country.

If you are serious about being an au pair in the UK, then I would recommend that you visit the British Au Pair Agencies Association website (http://www.bapaa.org.uk) and use their directory to find an accredited agency. They will have vetted all the host families on their books, so you can be assured of not being scammed. They will also be able to talk you through the process of applying for visas etc.

Please do not tell scammers that they are listed here - it will take them seconds to change their fake details and their new details will not be listed for any future victims to find.

Thank you a lot!!!
Could I ask you then about other legal sites of Norway, Holland or Denmark countries if you know, please?
by AlanJones Wed Apr 11, 2012 9:07 am
You will need to check with the official websites of the countries concerned (search for the country name and visa requirements) or speak to that country's Embassy in your own country.

I did find one site that has some information on the requirements for different countries at http://www.newaupair.com/visas_amsterdam.aspx, the information may be out of date, but it will give you an idea.

I've been noticed in time but I've sent them my passport copy and a kind of fake contract with my signature. Should I get worried about it? Can they do something with these documents now that I'm not replying them anymore? Thanks God you have this websitre to inform us cause I almost felt down in this scamm game.

Welcome here Rafael_rocha

You do not need to worrie about that. These scammers are getting a lot of information and passport scans, but they are not interested in them and don't use them. They are only interested in your money.

Being a victim doesn't mean you stand alone. We're here to help you.
by jolly_roger Fri Apr 20, 2012 8:04 am
Don't panic Rafael_rocha. The scammers ask for the info because it makes the whole fraudulant exercise seem more real. I too have prevoiusly sent private information to a scammer with no adverse effects. Simply cease all contact with it. The only thing you need to do is be on your guard from future scam emails you may or may not receive in the coming weeks. But once they realise you won't play cricket, they will leave you alone.

Good morning,

We just wanted to advise that we are no longer associated with this family, www.aupaircity.com have deleted this family profile from the site and advised the family that they are banned from future use.
Its always very helpful when Au Pairs and Families inform us of issues that arise, Au Pair City has a new messaging system that will detect scammers on the site to reduce the risk to both families and Au Pairs alike.

Many thanks to those who have advised us about the scammers so far although they can cause much distress its alway important to let us know as soon as you find anything that you may think is not official.

The new upgrades internal messaging system will be in place within the next 10 days, which again will reduce these issues.

Best wishes
Au Pair City
