Welcome here aliamarya.

This is definatly a scam! A real family will never tell you to contact a lawyer, or a travel agency. Also as an au pair you only get pocket money, and not a monthly salary. The amount that the scammer is promising is also far too much. So unfortunatly for you, there is no au pair position, just a scammer trying to steal your money.
Could you please post the email addresses that this scammer is using?

Being a victim doesn't mean you stand alone. We're here to help you.

I'm worried that if I don't proceed or comply, I might get a bad record or get blacklisted. :(

These people have nothing to do with the real border agency or immigration. There is no legally binding contract because both the family and the attorney are fake. There is nothing to "comply" with because none of it is real. At NO time have you been in contact with a real attorney or any person associated with the UK government. You can't be blacklisted because you are not dealing with anyone real. You won't get a bad reputation either, because you simply didn't fall for a scam.

Scammers sometimes try to sound official and make official-sounding threats - it's nothing more than more more lies invented to try to steal your money. You need to drop this scammer now, and ignore all future contact from the "border agency" or any other "official" that contacts you--they will all be fake too.

Real English people in Oxford do not write like that. Real English people in Oxford do not have numbers beginning 702. (44 is the country code.) Someone from outside the UK visiting the UK would not use a travel agency in the UK. Travel agencies do not issue passports or visas; embassies and consulates do.

It's a scam. I bet there's an IP address beginning 41 in the headers.
