The short answer is yes. The fraudulant trickster (using another name and slightly differing text) can be seen at viewtopic.php?f=42&t=45384
You would be doing yourself a HUGE favour by simply ceasing all contact with the scamster

There is absolutely no doubt about it. It is a scam.

From the start, the writing tells me that the author is African, not American.

But, even more importantly, the US has very strict regulations regarding au pair visas. There is no way to get a visa without being sponsored by one of the agencies designated by the US government.

A real family would most likely find their au pair through one of these agencies--but even if they don't, they would still have to make arrangements through one of the agencies.

Here is the official list:
http://j1visa.state.gov/participants/how-to-apply/sponsor-search/?program=Au%20Pair&state=any

If you are asked to contact ANY agency that is not on the official list, then you are dealing with a scammer. As you can see, US IMMIGRATION DEPARTMENT OFFICE is not on that list.

You also need to understand--if a potential family gives you the name of an agency that is on the official list, then you need to be able to call the agency at the number on the official list, and verify that they are indeed your sponsor.
