I was contacted by "Craig" on 14/ 07/12 ... after I declined an au pair job from Justine Adams, which seems to be part of a scam to. I started thinking something when wrong when he deceive my question to skype call .. I am so stupid for almost falling in it! but I definatly didn't fall for the 750GBP deposit ....
I have a question ... if they have my information (name, adress, nationality and birth) what they can do? I am afraid they could use my identity or make something else.

Hello eclipse23 and micael91, and welcome to ScamWarners.

eclipse23, it is useful to know the real information about becoming an au pair in any country which you hope to travel to, as this will help you identify the scammers. There is an overview of the most popular countries here:

http://www.aupair-world.net/index.php/au_pair_program/

Pay particular attention to any requirements you might need to fulfill, and also to how much pocket money you can expect to receive. Be very cautious about any family who suggests a different method of becoming an au pair, or offers you a lot more money than is usual for that country - this is typical of many scammers.

micael91, please don't worry about anything that you have sent to the scammer. Au pair scammers write to dozens of au pairs at the same time, and all of these au pairs will send the scammer their personal details, photos, and sometimes a passport scan as well. The scammer may make a note of a phone number, but he isn't interested in anything else, and usually doesn't even bother to look at anything he is sent. He only asks for these things in the hope that it makes him appear more believable.

An exception to the above, is if you have sent the scammer your bank account or credit card details - all scammers may use these details for theft, so you would need to contact your bank and/or credit card company immediately, and tell them what has happened.

But otherwise: au pair scammers' inboxes are full of au pairs' details, CVs/résumés, photos, and ID and passport scans. There is no reason that this scammer will pay any particular attention to anything that you have sent him. When you stop all contact with the scammer, he may persist in trying for a few days to persuade you to communicate with him; but if you totally ignore him, he will very quickly forget all about you, and he will focus instead on the many au pairs who are still writing to him and believing in him, and who he still hopes to steal money from.

And yes, Justine Adams is another scammer. You can read about this scam here:
