Scams offering fake Au Pair positions
by Chris Fuller Tue Jul 17, 2012 6:04 am
This is not a genuine au pair opportunity; it is a scam.

From: "Justine Adams" <[email protected]>

Greeting from Adams family here in London. We are so pleased to read from you. I will like to use this opportunity to introduce my family to you. My wife and I work with the World Health Organization. We are posted over here from the USA after series of training. We are originally from Queensland, Australia. I am a Medical Doctor by profession and my wife one of the Executive secretary of the World Health Organization.

We would be offering a monthly salary of 1,800GBP and 200GBP weekly for your pocket money. You would be required to work for about 30hour per week. We shall provide you with a live-in accommodation well furnished with a laptop computer and internet connection.

To enable us prepare a bidding contract to your services to our home, we would need you to send us your CV or Resume basic Information (Your Name, Sex, Age, Nationality and Contact information) and reference if available for our review. Upon the receipt of the above data, then our attorney will proceed in the preparation of your Contract with my family. We value health and respect one another; therefore we assure you that we shall take good care of you as we believe that you will take good care of our kids (Cherry and Michael). In the attachment are some of my family pictures.

While sending your CV/Resume to us, remember to inform us when you think you are available to start work with my family. We will need your services immediate but feel free to indicate when you are likely to start work with my family okay.

My wife Amanda sends her kind regards to you. Wishes you the best life can offer.

Yours Faithful,
Dr. Justine and Amanda Adams family.

This scammer is also using the following email address:

[email protected]

This email address is also used by the scammer when he is pretending to be called Donald O'Brian. You can read about this scam here:

viewtopic.php?f=42&p=109517

One of the telephone numbers used in the fake contract - +447035965165 - was also used in this scam, pretending to be the mobile telephone number of host Mark William Dean:

viewtopic.php?f=42&t=45385&p=109486#p109486

Like all telephone numbers which begin +4470, it is not a normal UK telephone number; it is a 'redirect' number, which redirects all calls to a mobile phone in another country. This scammer lives in Nigeria, so it will redirect all calls to his mobile phone there.

The email address for the UK Home Office is also fake, and is part of the scam. Genuine UK Home Office email addresses end with @homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk and genuine UK Border Agency email addresses end with @ukba.gsi.gov.uk - and neither of these have any words or abbreviations after that.

[email protected] is a free webmail address which also belongs to this scammer.
