Scams offering fake Au Pair positions

This is not a genuine au pair opportunity; it is a scam.

From: Julian Barrows <[email protected]>

Dear Aupair,

We are looking for an aupair to become part of our family, you must be able to speak some English. We saw your profile on eaupair.com. We have 2 children. My wife and I both work full time, she is a school teacher and I am an Engineer.

We are a fairly active family and like to go on walks and bike rides, we live very close to some beautiful countryside also close to the city centre. The area is roughly about 40 minutes driving or on the train to cities like Liverpool and Manchester. There are few other aupairs that live near to us, Our residence is very open. In the area you will find a central park, city garden project, a handful of pubs full of people, shops/post office, music society halls and other socialization venues where people get together to socialize. We live just outside of London and your being a good driver would be an added advantage.

We would like you to help get the kids up, ready for school and fed, drive our them to school come home walk the dog and make sure the house is tidy and clean. And also if you can, teach them foreign languages. . You will also be needed for help in minor housework. You will be needed to pick the kids from school and play in the garden or sometimes watch TV! Preparing the evening meal (someone will usually be around to do this, but just in case). All the family do taekwando classes once week.

Your accommodation would be fully furnished and we would be paying you 1000GBP Monthly and 250GBP weekly throughout the duration of your stay with us. We go out as a couple once or twice a week so we would like you to baby sit for us. We also have a caravan which we visit a lot of places in Wales and Ireland with.

So if you are interested kindly contact us ([email protected]) ASAP.

Awaiting your quick response. Cheers!

Subject: Meet the family

Hi,

Have read and I like the brief narration you gave and I'm impressed :) Let me introduce you to our family, some people make a joke that we are the J family :). I am Julian Barrows the father, a civil engineer and my wife is July a school teacher in the county. We really need an Au pair for our kids, our work schedule made it imperative that we hire an Au pair to help in taking care of Juan (5+) and Justin (8). I am looking for an Au pair to be a big sister/brother to our lovely sons and to become another member of our family. We are a warm, happy and fun loving liberal family, and I'm sure you will enjoy living and working with us.

Justin loves sport and admires the military (one of the millions careers he wants to take in the future), a very adorable boy, he once told me he wants to take after me as an engineer, but later that week he now wants to become a soccer player. lol. Juan is the baby of the house very cerebral and it amazes me how much he knows even as a little boy, he is more reserved that Justin is but just as adorable.

We take the kids to park once a week and would like you to take them around if you wish. We will require you to take care of our kids for about 32-40hrs a week. You will have weekends free and will receive a pay of 1000 pounds per month and 250 pounds weekly for pocket money which you will receive on every Friday of the week.

Our residence is very open. In the area you will find a central park, city garden project, a handful of pubs full of people, shops/post office, music society halls and other socialization venues where people get together to socialize. You will have your own heated bedroom and your own bathroom either live in or live out fully furnished , plus desk phone and computer system & internet.

Before now we usually employ someone on a part time basis to look after our kids till any one of us gets home. Our last attempt to employ an aupair was quite lovely and exciting until she had to leave to go back to Poland because of "family concerns" (as she put it) which she never explained to us but we appreciate and respect her privacy.

There is a language school here where you can attend to improve your English (if you want to), we may need you to drive our family van if you can, but we shall arrange some driving lessons for you when you arrive. You may use this car for taking our children to school or taking them around the city. We are a young, loving family and fun to be with, looking for a caring aupair to blend with our family. We also need to know what you will expect from your ideal host family. Please also include a recent picture of yourself.

My direct mobile is +44 746 696 3620, looking forward to your telephone communication through calls or text.

Find attached to this email, a couple of our family pictures. Summer is here already and with the Olympics about to start, we need an aupair asap. If you agree to work for us, I would want to know if you can be able to start work within 3weeks time from now. Ask any questions and I will be willing to answer. Cheers

The lawyer is also fake, and is part of the scam.

Please also note that, in reality, the UK Home Office does not issue nor approve contracts.
