Scams offering fake Au Pair positions
by julija Sun Oct 14, 2012 12:33 pm
Hello!
I am wondering if anyone could tell me whether this is a scam or not.

Hey ,
I have just read your mail. I am impressed with experience with the kids and your fluent English which would be good for the kids.
And also i have no much questions because you have already traveled to England before so the country isnt strange to you.
If you're sure you can cope, then there's no problem being an Au Pair would make more sense and your little idea about being with your brothers and neighbors.
I am currently in the United States on a business trip so i will be back by the end of the month.
I'm just going to have to make plans so you can always have the weekend off so you can have other things to do, so your working days would be from Monday - Friday. You'll have the afternoon off from 6:00 pm. basic salary of our AuPair was 1000GBP every weekend and weekly allowances of 200GBP
making a total of 1200GBP, if you feel you are comfortable with this, you can make any suggestions about what you want as your salary and get back to me.

Love from
Ms Katrina

Here's the second email:

okay. here's a profile of my family.. we are the Carson family, we live in croydon, surrey United Kingdom, my husband (James) works with John Sisk so he's always traveling, I'm a banker with Chase and a part time model with Modella couture. we have two kids 5 and 7 years old, Bryan and Claire. I'm very busy with work and taking of my family so my kids sometimes stay with my mom. I need an au pair so she can ease the stress, the Au pair can have the weekend off or less duties as i would be home on Saturdays and Sundays for the afternoon and evening.
So your duties will be to pick the kids from school we have a driver already, prepare their food, help with their homework,we have a laundry man that helps with laundries.
Skype call ? [email protected] would let ou know when i'll be online
Just tell me things i need to know about you, how familiar you are with kids, your worst and best experience with kids..do you smoke? do you drink? do you party because i know you like music.
If you have good attributes, i might as well help with other things you might be needing.
If you can start by December after the kids get back from travel with their grandma or January, that would be fine by us.

Best Wishes
Katrina Carson

Welcome here and thank you for posting these scam emails. Yes, they are scam emails! The salary this scammer is offering is far too high for an au pair position, and actually as an au pair you won't get a salary, just pocket money. Also the first email is a standard au pair scam email written by a scammer who does not know what a real family would write.

Being a victim doesn't mean you stand alone. We're here to help you.
