Is it really a scam?
by Dotti Sun Oct 28, 2012 8:20 am
100% scam, I am afraid. There is absolutely no doubt about it. The writing alone gives it away, as the author is clearly not Canadian as claimed. The mistakes in the English tell me the author is most likely African.

Still not sure? Take a look at this one, posted in May here: The exact same history and clearly based on the same prewritten scripts. The scammer has simply updated it and changed names.

Now he has all my personal information, is that dangerous?? why does he do that???
by jolly_roger Mon Oct 29, 2012 12:34 pm
Hi ronda5.
<quote, Now he has all my personal information, is that dangerous?? why does he do that???>
As long as no personal financial details have been given to the scammer, you need not worry. If you gave any anking or credit card details, contact your financial institution and advise them. I too have given my personal information to a scammer with no adverse effects. Whilst not ideal, I would say not dangerous. No harm will come to you but be wary of further scam emails within the coming days or weeks, now the scammer has your email address.
Why does he do that? It simply makes the scam story sound more believable and puts the intended target at ease. A victim who feels comfortable and at ease is easier to fleece than someone being alert and cautious.

He is still hoping he can convince you that he is real, so that he can steal your money using the fake Home Office.

Just ignore him and do not reply.

It seems that Michael Lloyd operated under different names; e-mails and addresses:-
Jeff Carrick;

60 Bruton Street,

I also did a bit of research after a friend in South Africa got a mail from "Jeff Carrick" (the same proposal like the other girls). His contact number +447035965165 are also linked as fraudulent 419 scam numbers for UK lottery.
