is this a scam?

I recieve this email 6 days ago.

His name is

with an 12 year old daughter,
we are convinced that you are qualified, a tender nice young
woman for my daughter and me. yes we are interested to get in
closer contact to you for an
aupair job. before discussing the
details we should agree on the
general view to be an aupair.
we are looking for a real aupair as a member of the family not
just a nanny , as we mentioned
already in our profil.
an aupair is more than a nanny.
an aupair means to become a full
member of the family is very close to the family and join the family in
all they do like taking meal
together, share mutual
tenderness, shower and bathing,
share intimacy, share free time
etc. is this Ok for you? there are european recommendations for
the relations between aupairs
and their host families. do you
know them? you should fully
agree to them, as they are basis
of our family life also with the aupair.

family to communicate in English.
but also outside most of the
German people speak some English. nevertheless it would be
good for you to learn German
when you are here. we will teach
you and on top of that you can
go to a language school which is
very near from our house, only a five minutes walk

Maybe its good to send the
European recommendations for

This is not the type of scenario that fits into our scope. We focus on scammers posing as hosts who are trying to steal your money.

However, this letter (or one extremely similar to it) has come up a few times, and always traces back to one or more apparently real persons in Germany. It appears that it is one or more people looking for something that does not fit within the usual standards for an au pair. The "recommendations" described by this person do not come from any recognized authority, and certainly are not standard European guidelines for au pairs. It appears that this person is hoping to bring a young woman into his home as an au pair, but wants this woman to be a sexual partner for himself.

I have removed the name in the email because technically it does not fall into the category of scam, since this person is openly acknowledging his intentions. It is up to you whether you want to correspond with this person.

While I am not going to offer advice on this situation specifically, I will state that in general, there is a very real danger in any young person traveling alone to another country to meet someone who makes open or implied sexual advances online.
