by misssilja Tue Nov 06, 2012 8:59 am
However i'm 100% sure that this is a scam, but i'm just checking.

Hello,

How are you? hope you are doing fine. I am very happy that you are interested and willing to work for us. However I must assure you that everything is going to work out just fine here. Of course any starting time of yours is okay with us so it might interest you to know little about the family and the job expectations.

ABOUT US
I'm working with the a Law firm as Public Relation Officer here, live in Geneva, New York, USA. while my husband (Michael) works as a consultant engineer. I am down to earth, blunt and take things the way they come. I am a very friendly person and easy to get along with. You will have no problem in adapting to our lifestyle here. We will be needing your services due to the time commitment that is demanding by our job. We want you to know that you'll never have any cause to regret taking up this job.

THE KIDS
My last child is a Girl her name is Chloe and she is 4 years old, she is at kindergarten school and she will soon proceed to elementary school to join her brother. She is welcoming and though she is young, she has a warm reception for people and she has got friendly attitude too. She likes playing a lot and I do not think you will not have any problem with her so far she eats and plays well. Lewis is 7 years old, he is a bright boy very intelligent and ease going, he's in the fourth year in elementary school. He likes candy, chocolate and he likes watching cartoon movies and cycling with our Neighbors in the neighborhood. He also likes playing a father role because he's always with me in the absence of their father, being the first child and the only son he likes taking responsibilities and this amaze me and his father cause he is Just seven and he act much more older than his age.

CITY
We live in a big city with attractive views, natural environments and nice structures. "Surely here as well as other cities in New York is regarded as the Paradise of the world. People of this place and other states are very simple in their manners, Everybody is neither Poverty nor Riches, each house is quite okay, and every man has a trade and other good job opportunities and student are also responsible in their respective schools, Most importantly there is no distinction of Persons." Somethings are expensive like housing and car sales but most of other things are affordable like food, clothes and many more. But I really cant say much except you come here and see for yourself, Okay. More so here; life is so easy and organized, you can hardly miss anything you need. It is just that no matter what you are here to do you must stay focused and enjoy yourself while not being distracted. This will be the best place for you to experience and I am sure you will have fun.

SCHEDULE
Your job is not a hard one, I do not believe in supervising or monitoring people to do their job.I believe people should be giving a free role in whatever they do. So, I believe you should be able to perform well without being told. All entails preparing the kids for school in the morning, taking Lewis and Chloe to the point where the school bus picks them up to school. You will have a free period then whereby you can do any vocation or practice or time for studying if you are type or whatever is at your disposal. Then you help monitor them after they are brought home by the school bus, just to make sure they are alright till my arrival from work.

Morning: help children get dressed, feeding, prepare for morning activities<school, play class etc>

Afternoon: participate in other activities, library, swimming lessons, read books, play games, listen to music.

Evening: help prepare dinner, give them baths, help them put on pajamas, Help them with any projects and school activities.

SALARY
You will have $5.8 for 8.50 hours per day for 23 days(23 days out 31 days of the month) makes or equals $1,200 plus $70 every week for your petty expenses, your off days are the weekends Saturday and Sunday makes up the remain 8 days to make up the 31 days of the month so you won't be paid during those days but In case you have to work during your off days your per pay will be at $6.00 per hour and it will be added to your end of the month salary. This salary is subject to negotiations for an upward review upon your arrival and I am sure this pays you more in return because you are going to have a substantial savings.

You will be provided with a well furnished bed room in the house as soon as you get here with your personal bathroom. We will also endeavor to get you a personal desktop computer connected to the internet(and if you have your laptop you can also bring it along), TV and other necessary gadgets at your disposal. There is no problem with you having a cell phone but you are also left with the option of using the home line to reach whoever you want to contact. There will be enough privacy for you, I guess you'll really like it.

STUDY
You will be free to study in any school of your choice around soon as you get here. I will be helping you as regards course fee. There are so many colleges and universities here that offer good and qualitative part time courses here like English and many others but you we will discuss more about this when you arrive fully, okay.

OFF DAYS
You have every weekend as your off day as I will not be going to work during weekends except special overtime.

Concerning the when to start and your length of your stay?- I am sure that you will quite agree with me that it will be a great idea if we can start the processing of your Visa, Return Flight, Work permit, Insurance and other traveling documents any moment from now so that you can have them ready as to avoid any delay on your part, you will be applying for it through the agent here in the States, they helped us with our past Au pairs and the experience has been wonderful. Their processing is usually about 2-3 weeks with a safe and reliable service so in that case we have no choice than to wait and get all the visa and required documents so get back to me so that we can have that arranged.

How long do you intend staying with us precisely; of course I am asking again to be sure of what you wrote in your profile and you know that it is actually open to both of us. More importantly you will have your own plan but as for us you are free to stay with us for any period so let's know your decision about that.

Feel free to ask any question, we will not hesitate to answer you but I will still appreciate if you can tell us more about you, your city, your family if any again and send more pictures?

Hope to hear from you soon.

Yours sincerely,
With Love.
Susan Cross

Hello,

How are you? hope you are fine. I am so sorry for replying late too as I have been very busy with work and family. It is so good to hear from you again and I am sure that carefully understood our mail and thank you for the compliments, lovely pictures and detailed message. More importantly I believe now that there will be a change because we are ready to take you as part of our family. I want you to know more that Lewis love to play basketball and lots of video games while Chloe takes interest in music like dancing and imitating people that plays the piano and blows the flutes so when she grows much older I would like to enroll her in a music school. I am sure that you will have a lovely experience with our children and family at large. As regards the visa and traveling with us and your cooperation it is not going to be difficult and I am of strong conviction to assure you of your safety. Of course your starting time in December or January and any duration of stay( 3, 6, 9, 12 months) is okay with us hoping that we will have a great time spend together and therefore get along so well. As I have said earlier that we will be directing you with an agent here in the state for the processing of your visa and traveling so in that case they will be providing and guiding you with all the information needed such that you have smooth presentation and clearance, okay. Please I will like you to follow instructions so that there are no mistakes as much as possible. It is okay here as the life is so easy and organised, you can hardly miss anything you need here too This will be the best place for you to experience and I am sure you will enjoy and have fun. Please encourage yourself to be calm and relax being a new experience to the States so everything is okay and I know you might be worried that you are traveling a bit far from home and you know you will definitely miss your family and friends. Anyway that is what is expected of every individual but it is going to be a great experience as well. So I want you to see me as your big mum and a friend while at this time I need your full support and encouragement to achieve your dream and make it a reality to be part of our family.

More so I hope you know that getting to USA and securing a visa, return flight ticket and other traveling documents may be quite expensive but I want to assure you that we are always ready to give you a helping hand because am really convinced you will be a good Au Pair in my home and I want to see to that fact that you make it here without any delay. So concerning the processing we will have to get it done through our agent because of our past experience: so it will only be perfect to apply through them as they helped us with our last Au pair and it was very great and also very secured patronizing them. I believe you know that our family must also pay some amount of money too, that means; you will also be paying your own part of the total traveling expenses which is affordable but right now I cannot give you the current cost breakdown and processing details except you make contact. I want us to make progress without any delay so that you can join us in good time without any delay when you are ready. I am sure that the processing usually takes around 2 to 3 weeks and so by then you will have received all your traveling packages. You will have to contact our agent Mr. Brenneth on this email address: [email protected] for all details of the processing of your visa, work permit, insurance and other traveling documents including the Total Cost, please tell him "Your name, address, country, personal cell phone no and that you have found your American Host family (Susan and Michael Cross's family living in 82 Wadsworth St. Geneva, New York, NY 14456, USA) also tell him you intend to start with us in December, 2012 or January, 2013 and how long you will be staying precisely)''.

Please I want you to note that sometimes you can receive my mail or agent's response in your Spam Message as it maybe relayed there due to Internet error and if you are not aware of it from now it will take a long time for you to know while awaiting your response or theirs. So in order for us to move ahead at the right time and avoid any form of delay please do take note of that, okay.

Kindly get back to me with whatever they tell you so that we can discuss better. I will be expecting your reply and pictures soonest.

Make sure you send them the email as soon as possible, okay.

Yours sincerely,
With Love.

Yes, it is a definite scam.

Besides the English and some key mistakes that show the author is not American and does not live in the US, the scenario is impossible.

The US has very strict rules regarding au pairs. One of them is that the au pair must be sponsored by an agency on the official sponsor agency list: http://j1visa.state.gov/participants/how-to-apply/sponsor-search/?program=Au%20Pair&state=any None of them use AOL addresses.
