Thyroid cancer sounded familiar, and when I searched the site, I found two more reported aupair scams with identical wording.
No surprise there, as scammers often use scripts.

Unfortunately, if your money has been picked up, it is gone. It is in the hands of the scammers at this point in time, and none of the names or addresses you have been given are actually connected to them. If it has not been picked up then you need to immediately go to WU to stop the transfer. If you are contacted by someone who says they can get your money back, it is actually going to be another scam, designed to get even more money from you. With the full headers, we can probably tell you what country your scammer is in, but it will not help you to get your money back.

That 4470 number is a redirect number--it is a premium number that is forwarded to phones all over the world. The scammer has given you that number so that you will think he is actually in UK, when in reality he is in Africa (or he may be an African in Malaysia on a student visa.)

Could you please post all emails you received from this scammer, and any fake travel agencies, etc. related to this scam?

Unfortunately, if you are independently seeking a position as an au pair, you can expect 5-10 scams (or more) for every real email you receive.

To avoid being scammed in the future, you will need to look for subtle inconsistencies and red flags, such as poor English from someone who is supposed to be from US or UK or repeated questions the scammer should already know the answer to. If English isn't your first language, it is harder to spot the mistakes in the email you posted that are consistent with an African, so you should look for other signs, and you can always come here and ask for help if you are unsure. As I said above, you can safely assume anything with a 44-70 number is a scam.

As an example of inconsistencies--this author doesn't seem to know how many children he/she has. In the beginning he talks about his "babies" meaning more than one, but later in the email there is clearly only one child. Also, he says he is in Essex but the address says Kent. I'm not from UK, but I'm pretty sure those are 2 different locations.

Dotti is correct - Essex & Kent are 2 different Counties. Also, Essex is NOT in London!! :D

In my letter from the very beginning we were talking about one child who's name is Ann.
He told me to write his lawer for the instructions. That one is definitely from UK, as I checked him ip address, ip address of employer is USA unknown. He had sent me his ID of the company where he workes, not sure that it's real.

For me is interesting that fact that I had to make 5 deposits and 2 of them were send on my name, as I was told they had to be transfer on my bank account. I guess, anyway, I can go to my bank and to write ?omplaints , if it's a scam so how could they give that money somebody else, as I still in my country and I couldn't withdraw my money. Hope in this way to get back some money.

I wanted to know the other e-mail address of this scammer and talked to him from my another address, so he couln't know that is me.

By the way, he called me a lot of times, his language wasn't pure and his mails are very good.
I will post them later.

I'm not quite sure I understand what you mean about other email address, but I suspect it will become more clear from the correspondence itself. If you sent money by bank transfer, you should definitely report it to your bank, though that does not mean you will get your money back.

Please do post the correspondence as well as the ID (which undoubtedly is fake or stolen). While it is possible your scammer has an accomplice in UK, it is also very possible that the "lawyer" is using a proxy which will make him look like he is in UK when he is not.

Just make sure you remove your own personal information (email, full name) from the emails you post.
