Is he a scammer? Please let me know because i am already sending them my documents in the agency he has provided and the agency is legit. But i am not sure of Mike Ricks if he is real. I am from Philippines. Please send me a reply regarding this.. Thankyou..

Yes, he is a scammer.

He may be using the name of a legitimate agency, but that doesn't mean he is actually affiliated with that agency.

I am not sure what documents you mean, but sending documents containing your confidential personal information without thoroughly researching the recipient can also lead to a lot of problems for your future.


If you are trying to get a job as an au pair, it is important that you take the initiative to understand the regulations regarding au pairs for the country you want, or you will be scammed by any of the hundreds of scammers out there.

If you have researched the regulations, (the US government has publicly posted them and they are very easy to find) you would understand that

a) you must be sponsored by an agency on the official sponsor list.
b) you must be interviewed, IN PERSON, IN ENGLISH, by a representative of that agency. That interview MUST happen BEFORE you can get an au pair position with ANY family.
c) If you have been instructed to email an agency at ANY address other than the one listed on the official sponsor list, you must be able to contact that agency at the contact information ON THE OFFICIAL LIST and verify that they are considering sponsoring you.
d) ANY legitimate agency will require you complete their application, and if they feel you are a candidate that they can sponsor, they will arrange that interview with a representative in your country.
e) You will also be subject to various background checks AND a personality profile to determine whether you are a suitable candidate.

There are other requirements as well. I would suggest that you read them.

In addition to the above (which are requirements according to the law)
NO legitimate agency will ask you to send money to them via wire transfer.

So, if someone offers you an au pair job, and you have not formally applied, had your references checked, completed a personality profile and a face-to-face interview, the job offer CANNOT be legitimate.

I am Mr Mike G Rick, I'm 36 years old. I work as an accountant with a construction company, I live in Ohio USA, My contact address is 1401 Aschinger Blvd, Columbus, OH, United States. Am in need of an Au pair because our Nanny had to go back to her country because her mother was very sick and her attention was needed. She stayed with us for 1year. I close very late from work and My wife is a working class woman she work's as a sales Manager at Walmart,ever since our Nanny left my daughter has been staying with a nearby Nanny home but it has not been so easy and caring enough... My wife has just given birth to a new baby boy and she really need someone to take care of she older one and assist her with the junior baby boy.

About the Kids:

We have an energetic but delightful Daughter. her name is Jessie, She is 3 years old. We got one wonderful dog, she is a Chihuahua pup and she name is Jada. Don't be freak out if i call Jada baby, because she is really my baby too and i treat her with love and care like my own kid. You don't have to worry am sure you are going to get along with her and my daughter too because they are both friendly and like meeting new people. Jessie is Three years, she is welcoming and though she is young, she love soccer, playing basketball, swimming, dancing, writing, reading, and watching movies or TV...lol she likes going out with mom, like going to church, going shopping with mom. she has a warm and friendly attitude. she like s playing a lot and i do not think you will have any problem with her so far she eats and plays well. she is very intelligent and loves to take after people,this is the more reason i will appreciate someone with good qualities to be her Au pair/Nanny so that she doesn't take to bad influence.

Duties & Responsibilities:

We are looking for someone who likes to do their own thing and doesn't have a problem staying home, Someone who love kids and like staying with them. I need a very good, honest, caring, understanding and God fearing Au pair Nanny for my kid. Your main duties is the due care of Jessie . You will be required to get her ready for the day, take Jessie to school and pick him up after school and see to his needs in the afternoon. You will also be required to assist with homework, bath and change as required, arrange visits with friends, and see to after school activities, play games together as well as anything else that may be necessary for his amusement and well being. You will be required to do some cleaning up (including washing, ironing for him and cleaning of the rooms). My Daughter and jada I believe will be keeping you entertained at home during the days! we do not require babysitting as you see the kid is grown up...hehehe just like she always say, which means that you are free to enjoy these as you wish. On your days off you can enjoy the Sun on one of the many beautiful beaches just a short drive away. We also have a summer house by the lake which we would like you to spend some time with us in. On weekend go to museums, zoo, aquarium, playground, watching movies, prepare/serving she snacks and foods, and we will arrange a car for you to go around, you can attend a driving school over here if u can't drive, Also am ready to assist you if you wish to attend an English school in other to improve your English standard level. You will be free to study in any school of your choice soon as you get here. I will be helping you as regards tuition fees. There are so many colleges and Universities here that offer good and qualitative courses here. You will be enrolled in a public institution to attend a course in any language of your choice for foreigners during the weekends, for the duration of your stay, (this is however optional for you)

Accommodation:

You will be staying with us when you get here, You will have your Private Room which will have Bathroom/Toilet, Television, Air-Conditional and Internet Computer. You will have access to the Internet and a Telephone at home to get in touch with your friends and love ones. You will be having Saturdays and Sundays as your off days while i will be at home to take care of the kid, you will be having all the privacy you want, so to enable you have enough time for yourself.

Salary:

As for your salary, I will be will be paying you $1000 Usd Monthly equivalent to the US Au pair program and minimum wage and a pocket fee of $150 Usd weekly which I suppose should be enough for your primary needs and that does not include you to pay any taxes, after when i see that you work very well i shall increase your salary.

Start Date & Period of Employment:

You are expected to start as soon as you arrive here and I'll like to know how long you can work for my family because, completely it depends on how long you would like to work here with me but left to me, I do not intend to see you off in the next 4-6 Month because I really would need your services. . If due to circumstances beyond your control or for any other reason, you wish to leave at an earlier date than our agreement, you will be required to give one month's notice.

I need someone who is Honest, Caring, Trustworthy, Loving, Affectionate, Concerned, Understanding, friendly and Who loves Kids, i want to play a role of a real mother to My Daughter because she is all i have. Note that you have nothing to worry about because you will be treated like one of the family member, all i need from you is that you take good care of my kid as your attitude towards him will go a long way in future..
