Hello i look for an au pair job next year. I have registered in the website EasyAupair.com and i have been contacted by some families. William Louden is a scam and i know. There is one family that did not contact me directly, but i received email from the website saying that they have checked that there intentions are genuine. I contacted them and they got back to me asking for my personal details. Should i proceed? I foward their email:

Hello Dear,

We are excited that the Administrative/ Registration unit finally recommended
you as our intending Au pair, we fully appreciate their recommendation
which was why we consulted them earlier to help us with a competent applicant.
However, we terminated our profile with the assurance that they will
get us a competent and caring Au pair from the registration you made
and to avoid
further contact with any other applicant accept the one they recommend.

I will appreciate you to Update us with a formal introduction of
yourself with Full names
or a CV if you have any. My husband will have to go through it as soon
as he comes back from work this evening. He will have to go through it
and make an approval, then I will
get back to you soon.

I will briefly introduce my family:

Well i think i solved the mystery myself. I found a previous post about mrs catherine russel (she has the same name) and the information is so similar, so i think this is scam. But how was the message from the aupair website sent to me? Can they do that? Do you know any good websites for au pair search? I ve got like 4 or 5 e mails from families but i dont believe any of them...It is so difficult. Thanks for all the help that you provide us. I attach the email with all the details now that i know it is a fraud...

The message from the au pair website was probably a fake, sent by the scammers themselves. It's not hard to fake an email address as the return address.

As to sites for au pair positions, the sad reality is that all of the general au pair sites are loaded with scammers. It is not uncommon to receive dozens of fake offers for each potentially real one. Working with a legitimate placement agency is more challenging, but in general much safer.

Hello Dear,

I am grateful for your positive response. Allow me to explain more about your assign duty and also about us.
At first, we reside in 121 South Ave, Staten Island, NY 10303. A nice, quite and calm city. Where we live is just about 25 mins drive from the big city of New York. I am blessed with two lovely kids namely Ashley (she is 9 years old) and James (he his 7 years old)

What you are assign to do or I say your task as a nanny are as follows.
You'll be working 5 to 6 hours a day. You are required to prepare the kids for school and take them to and from school. (that is, take them to school and later go and pick them from school in the afternoon). Care for and stimulate the children both mentally & physically, to ensure their intellectual, physical and social development. Look after their physical well being, encouraging proper use of everything - wash and bath them, help them on how to dress and undress. You are required to spend time with the child, running errands, house cleaning and light cooking is a possibility, but not really a requirement. We prefer someone who will reinforce our desire to teach our children responsibilities and do not expect to undertake the children assigned tasks but instead to find ways to encourage them to complete tasks (I mean not to spoil the kids by doing everything for them).
On weekends (Saturdays) you'll take them out to new places such as beach and other recreational places (You are fully free on Sunday).

When we want you to start and how long.
We did not have a specific date or reference to when you can start. You can start anytime. We would like to have you for not less than two months. It will be nice if you want to stay longer, even if you want to stay for more than a year. Your happiness with us during your stay is more important.

What we plan to offer.
We will be giving you $400 per week (I hope that is enough since we will cater for your feeding. I mean you don't need to buy food from outside). You and the kids will be going for shopping once in 5weeks. We have internet facilities in the house for your use, a private room with your own bathroom. A private car for you in taking the children to and from school provided you know how to drive or willing to learn driving. Getting you a driver's license will not be a problem.

Our interest as a family.
Our interests include the zoo, doing yoga, watching soccer, water skiing, snow skiing, a walk in the park, play dates with friends, arts, literature, traveling, shopping, cinema and taking good care of our children. We love adventure, arts, traveling, soccer, literature, laughter and our wonderful children. My kids are very active wanting a partner to bounce and spin with them. I would want you convince me that you are capable of doing this job to my satisfaction. In a nutshell, we agree to be responsible for the purchase of your plane ticket. I will like to know if you have a working permit and a valid working visa that allow you work legally in Usa? I wait to read back from you soon.

Hi,

I'm Mrs Carmen Jackson, from NY, United States of America. I'm writing you on behalf of the entire family (my husband, our 2 children and I). Here is little about us. With us you find a family where unconditional love, peace and understanding reign. Our family do not like to judge a book by the cover or take gossip to determine who will be around. We always try to stay positive and find the best in anyone or any situation including the worst ones. My profile: I work as a sales manager at a walmart while my husband work as a civil engineer. How old? I'm 35years old of age. Why do we need your service? Due to the nature of my job, am not always around. I'll thereby need your service as a nanny for my kids. We are a social and fun to be with family looking for a enthusiastic aupair who adores children to spend their days enjoying their company. I will appreciate your response to know if you are interested.

Thanks
Carmen

P.SThank you lovely people of this website for opening my eyes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (that is not a scam :D ). I only know your existence a day but i am grateful! It is really wonderful what you do!!!!!

CAR ADVERTS - If a car seller mentions escrow - he's scamming you Never ever for any reason pay anything until you have seen and inspected the vehicle
by trinity88 Wed Feb 06, 2013 10:26 am
I am sure about that :) Only the process of identifying scams must require lots of time and attention from you. But generally i think this people are kind of stupid. How do they expect to be passed for genuine if they send pictures of themselves and their children and personal details so easily, without knowing the person? I mean that a genuine family will be very cautious like I am, because an au pair also can turn out to be scam i think!!!! Evil and stupid, the worst combination that exists.

Hi!
In the last 2 days I received 2 e-mails from a Catherine Russell about an au pair job. This "job" sounds too good to be true.
I actually replied to their initial e-mail and told them some general things about my experience.
In their second e-mail they did not use my name or recognize any of the things I wrote to them (which I find suspicious), and they asked for my full name and a CV. What fraud can such information be used for??
I will not waste my time to check if they would send me a proper reply next time.

Thank you for starting this topic!

Greetings from an honest job seeker. :)

Welcome to Scamwarners working711.

It isn't your information they're after and they aren't interested in doing anything with it. They ask a lot of questions to attempt to appear more convincing and real, and by making you go to the effort of answering them they feel they have a better chance that you'll pay them the fees when they ask. That's what they're really after.

Thank you for your reply, TerranceBoyce!

It's puzzling that they would expect to get any fees from an unemployed person, instead of offering to pay for her plane ticket to London.
Something is very wrong with their system. They should get a construction job to earn their money. That will teach them some integrity and respect.
by TerranceBoyce Sun Feb 10, 2013 11:27 am
I've known them ask someone who has no money for $50 and they suggested he borrow it.

They have no moral limits. I have also known them ask an ill person to send them money rather than pay for their medicine.

Hi All,

It is unbelievable how easy it is to create an email spoofing. The email bellow appeared to has come from [email protected] (a legitimate website), but in fact it has come from a spammer ([email protected]). Be warned!

Could anyone help me to identify the sender (or at least to get an idea of the method used by the sender) of the email below. I have included the email header as described in other posts.
Thanks in advance.
