Scams offering fake Au Pair positions
by pando7 Tue Mar 05, 2013 9:04 pm
Hi everybody!

I would like to know if this offer of a family in London is genuine or it is a scam.
I'm very suspicious because I've recently discoverd a scam by the "famous" Natan family and there are some very similiar points in common.

His name is Dr. Richard Connel.
His e-mail is [email protected]

He even sent me this e-mail for the documentation: [email protected]
Even the wage they offer me(500 GBP per week) made me suspicious, is too much.

They send me a contract that is very similiar to Natan family's. ( Sorry, but I'm new and I don't know how to post it)

Thanks in advance fo your answers,
If you need other elements to investigate just let me know.

Welcome here pando7.

Yes, your suspicious was right, it is a scam! As you already noted, the wages are far too high, a sure sign of a scam. Also a real family never asks you to contact a lawyer or barrister for the arrangement of work permits or contracts. The fake barrister email address ends with lawyer.com, which is a free webmail domain which you can get with mail.com, which is very popular with scammers. Could you please post the emails that were aend to you from this scammer?

They sent me only these e-mails.
They also gave me this number: +447031905376

Numbers starting with 4470 are redirect or "follow-me" numbers. Calls to those numbers are forwarded to phones all over the world. They are also more expensive to call.

They are used by scammers who are pretending to be in UK when they are not--they are actually in Africa, Malaysia, or some other country. Legitimate UK residents do not have 4470 numbers. Any time you get an offer and the number starts with 4470 or 44070, you can know right away that it is a scammer.

Hi! I strongly suspect that the website Easy Au Pair.com is a scam, because both of the people that have tried to scam me are from that website and Richard Connell was even refferred to me by the website's administration. Richard Connell also uses the name George Gibson, which I accidentally found out when he sent me my contract twice but under different names.

Welcome here rozan13.

The easyaupair.com website is not a scam, but is frequently used by a lot of au pair scammers. There are now some scammers active who are sending out emails pretending to be from easyaupair.com There are already some examples posted here on the forums, along with fake webpages consisting of a fake family profile.
