The writing shows traces of West African, and the pay doesn't sound right.

Total scam.

In addition to the African English (and there is plenty of that) and the pay that is too high, these are supposed to be educated people, yet "she" can't even spell the name of their own employer or of her husband's job?

I've seen parts of this script before as well.

Good day.

She added me to her favorate's list. Just want to know, if it is a scam then why is she willing to skype?
by jolly_roger Wed Apr 24, 2013 4:21 am
Hi LG.
RE: if it is a scam then why is she willing to skype?
Because the scammer could easily use a female on the Skype instead. That way the trickster stays in the background, and you may think you're in communication with a woman. Your best course of action is to ignore and don't answer the caller. And if you wish, send a report of the suspect contact to Skype. Include a copy of the exact message you received. By reporting them to Skype, they will become aware of the questionable activities of those users and they will take the appropriate action.
Hope that is of help to you.

Because HE is intending to steal money from you.

I hadn't realised this myself, but it's true of many Western countries that working parents can receive large government subsidies to support their children going to day care centres and they don't apply if you employ an au pair. The day care centres are very sophisticated and closely regulated and often incorporate learning facilities in preparation for school.

Having established that a family seeking to employ an au pair would have to be wealthy and sophisticated, which this person clearly isn't, they would have to establish at the outset whether you are entitled to work in the UK, which is most unlikely if you are not an EU passport holder.

This person has only one aim and purpose, and that's to scam you. If he were serious he'd discuss the visa first, but he wants to give you the job and then make you pay him for a visa he can't get you. He's dealing with things in the wrong order.

CAR ADVERTS - If a car seller mentions escrow - he's scamming you Never ever for any reason pay anything until you have seen and inspected the vehicle

Welcome littlegirl15,

UK has very tight restrictions on foreign workers. In order to be eligible for an au pair job, you must be a citizen of an EAA country (in which case you do not need a visa) or you need a Tier 5 visa, in which case you MUST be from one of the countries listed on this page.

Image

Note that your country is not on either list. So it doesn't matter if someone adds you as a favorite on skype, because you cannot get a visa to work as an au pair in UK. Any real family in UK hiring an au pair would know this.

The payment is super-sized! First alarm i heard...
In the skype chat she answer me only with "ok" "oh ok" words. Not a London-style i suppose! Second alarm.....
I searched on google the email adress [email protected] (an aristocratic one) and i found this forum with the same email! Third alarm....
In the site she found me, she was saying that her husband is a Mycrobiologist, in the first mail she turned him into a Midwife and in a skype chat she said that he's a male nurse. (and in the site i told before, her profile has been deleted)
I don't know in Englad how it works, but here in Italy a microbiologist can't work in a midwifery unit... It's useless!! And a mycrobiologist is a medic, not a nurse (Italy... England, i don't know)
Thank goodness that i'm a nursing student... Scam i supose! Fourth alarm... I need to call firefighters!

I just want to understand one thing... How she or he can steal money from me in this way?! I only can loose them with a useless flight-ticket...

I am tempted to give "her" a false date... I have time until next weekend! :bondage:

What can i do now? I've already reported this case to the site' admins...

Scammers only think they're clever abecchio. Often they're very stupid and just follow what other scammers do in the hope they earn 'free' money. They are very much like insects, but more unpleasant. They copy each other if they think it will get them money and they do believe they are entitled to be paid for their lies.

Being Italian you don't need a visa to work in the UK but that won't stop a scammer trying to make you pay for one and, if you've bought an airline ticket, he knows he can make any demand he likes, even if it's stupid. he'll keep pushing you to buy an airline ticket because he knows that will enable him to blackmail you. Tell him you'll travel by car. :D

He has only one interest and that's to get you to pay him money.

This comment

Empty the kitchen bin when you notice it is full, and replace the bin liner.

.... is hilarious but the scammer is an idiot. It's surprising he doesn't tell you how to walk up stairs.

A man can become a midwife but it has nothing to do with microbiology. One is a nursing job and the other a scientific one.

...i hate this type of morons!
Ok, i'm going to tell him that i wish to travel by car

And that i have a lot of friends and relatives engaged on mafia activities? (i like those kind of stereotypes, pizza+mandolino+mom+pasta)

...or i can tell the truth, that i have found another one family in Austria and i'm going there for months to work as an au pair!

By the way... Thanks a lot TerranceBoyce for your advices

Clearly you are a sensible and intelligent young lady abecchio and I wish you the best of luck in your new work. The fact that you can look after yourself shows you will be an asset to the family you join.

Don't bother with the scammer. He isn't worth your attention or time.
