Scams offering fake Au Pair positions
by itsraiza Fri May 17, 2013 10:56 pm
Sooo... I've been communicating with this lady named Victoria in China so I can become her Au Pair for her 2 kids. She is offering to pay for the plane fare, and $1200 a month. Has anyone heard of any China Au Pair scams? She's being awful nice and I'm nervous as hell. I haven't skyped her yet, but will be doing so tomorrow morning. She says she had an Au Pair for 6 years from the Philippines...irrelevant but I don't know what else to say...

What safety measures do I need to take to know she's legit? I have her phone number and I googled her but there's no Facebook in China.

Anyone have any gut feelings about this?

Welcome here itsraiza. :)
A common Au Pair scam involves the thief offering to pay for the flight and the Au Pair is to pay for the visa.
The scammer sends a copy of a fake flight ticket and the victim is contacted by the scammer posing as the agency that processes the visa. The victim is then asked to pay a "processing fee" and that is how they lose their money.

More information is needed really. If you post here the emails that you received from this person, our members will take a look and can advise you further.

It is nice that you are interested. You can check my profile on the web, our informations like below,

We are looking for a nanny for 2 kids and our house keeping. One is 7 years old boy and one is 3 years old girl. They go to school every day, and will come back home around 3pm.

You will live in our home, and sending them to school in the morning, and do some house keeping in the day time. Pick them back in the afternoon.
And I hope you can tuturing our kids on English, and monitor them to do homework after school. They can speak English every well.

Welcome here itsraiza.

Yes, it is a scam! The amount of money they offer is far too high, and without an au pair organisation you would not be able to become an au pair in China.

Being a victim doesn't mean you stand alone. We're here to help you.

Its definitely a scam. No one will offer that high salary. Normally it should be below $500 only. If they pay that huge amount they cant play freeslotsnodeposit.org
