Scams offering fake Au Pair positions

Admin note: The original poster has removed the content of this post, either because she has been fooled by the scammer, in which case she will unfortunately learn a very hard lesson when she loses her money; or because the scammer has made bogus threats to convince her to remove this post. Unfortunately, we see these scenarios every day. He/she has also asked us to remove the thread.
The thread will NOT be removed, because removing it will help scammers, something we do NOT do.

I have posted the scammer's information again to help others. If "Dr. Forbes Culbert" would like to discuss this, he is welcome to contact me at my email address in my posts below - dotti

Webcam/skype can be faked.

I am assuming that he is telling you to send money to yourself or a friend/family member and send him the receipt for verification?

Sounds ok, until you discover (like many others have learned the hard way) that the receipt provides enough information for the scammer to pick up the money--so when you return to withdraw the money, you will find it's gone. This is a pretty common tactic used by African scammers.

Please post the actual emails this scammer sent you.

Hello CJBAupair,

As Dotti stated cams can be fake. Also no one ask for a scanned deposit slip for verification. You will not get your money back.

Hi, I would like to know if this is a scam. He's asking me to send money for the purpose of getting a deposit slip then forward the scanned deposit slip to them for verification. once verification is complete, I can withdraw the money.

I've seen him in skype with his daughter. He's calling me using the number + 447572001943 . email is [email protected] and address: N3 Tryon St London SW3 3LG, UK.

Please, any reply will do thanks! I'd like to know ur opinions about this.

Please contacta moferatorstor if you have a question or information about this post.

Please do not tell the scammer he is posted here.

@CJBaupair:

You are being SCAMMED!! if the scammer is threatening you, then it is because he is also scamming others with the same scam. Removing the information you posted does nothing but help him to scam others.

I am reiterating his information so that others can avoid falling for this scam:

Information on SCAMMER calling himself Dr. Forbes Culbert:
Phone number used: 447572001943.
Email address: [email protected]
Address: N3 Tryon St London SW3 3LG, UK.

By the way, I didn't point this out, but the name itself gives the scammer away. Like many Africans, this scammer has NO idea what English names should look like, and he has created a name that would not exist. He most likely created the name by stringing the names of two doctors listed here

Script used by this SCAMMER:

I am very pleased to inform you that we have after going through your information and making enquiries, found out that you are very capable of taking proper care of our children and so will like to inform you that we have decided that you become our next Au pair. However, I have added you on Skype, and will like to schedule an Interview with my family this evening but if the time isn't comfortable for you, we can have an adjustment, pending on your free time.

We wish to inform you also that we will discuss further online during the interview to determine if we will be given you a contract letter of job offer and hope soon also. However, we advice or rather plead with you to limit acceptance from other intending host families as we wouldn't want to loose you or waste our time at the end.

I have tried to send you an sms but it is not going through.

Hope to read your reply soonest.

We love you.

Forbes
