Addie: Amazing coincidences. I went online today to check out if this scammer had done the same scam before. I've been duped by the "mystery shopper" scam and came close to laundering their $$ before I realized it was a scam. I am a Nanny (I was a Paralegal for 30 years) with over 30 years' of childcare experience. My children went to Xxxxxxxxxx! Actually, you might even know my (adult) children who are close to your age and went to XXXX! Anyway, I considered myself to be on the ball where scams are concerned, yet I was recently hired for a VERY interesting Nanny job that also included office work (personal asst) where my paralegal skills would come in handy! I'd also cook for this family at times and help them decorate "staged" houses for their real estate corporation. Sounds great, huh? Except that this guy wanted to put me on the books and then instead of the original $15/hr (on the books), he said we really agreed to $10/hr (which put me at about $7.50/hr by the time I'm done with taxes!!!). So, after 3 days of working for him, I said I wouldn't come back. Ugh.
Fast forward to today. I'm checking my Nanny websites for jobs. I use Care.com (I have gotten legitimate jobs from there) and Sittercity.com (I don't think I've gotten one real call-back from there yet!!). I hear from this dude, Ronald Moltere. This is his email to me, so that people can beware:

I should have been tipped off that he immediately wanted to contact me outside of Sittercity's emailing. He wanted my personal email addy. Then I got an email from Sittercity a few hours later, telling me to STOP contact with him as he's a fraud and they deleted his account. Very interesting. I don't think I would have gotten much further with this guy. As soon as he began saying that he wanted *me* to go food shopping for them, etc., I was ready to ditch the idea. I'm catching on................... Scammers suck!!!
A good way around them is to cash any checks at a check-cashing place until we're sure of their safety. Don't give your bank info out. Don't deposit or cash checks thru your own account and DON'T pay back anything to them. Live and learn!!!!!!!
