Scams offering fake Au Pair positions
by Eïdis Mon Sep 16, 2013 12:13 am
Hi everybody!

I'm new on this website but I know that you can find if someone is a scammer or not. After an email of the famous pamelacross and Kenny55, I m distrustful.
So, I received an email from " [email protected] " for an aupair job, and I would like to know if it's a real person or not ? :( please.

Thank you for helping!

Scammers change names and email addresses all the time, so in order to determine whether the person is a scammer, we need to see the actual emails that you received. Please post them here so we can help you.

I have also received an e-mail from [email protected]. The conditions are really good so it 's probably a scam. Anyway, I have answer back to test its limits! Have I done it wrong?

In general it's not a good idea to play with a scammer who has your real life information (name, email, etc.)
Though he's not going to show up on your doorstep, if he realizes that you played with him when you knew he is a scammer, he is a little more likely to attempt to retaliate. He can't really hurt you but he can cause you some headaches if he reuses your photos, uses your name, address, and/or email address in scams, or even reports you and tries to get your account closed. We have seen scammers do (or attempt) all of these things when angry.

Posting the initial email will help others, though, since the scammer has undoubtedly sent the same bogus email to dozens of other job-seekers, and seeing it here may help others to understand it is a scam.

No, I haven't. But they are already going back on their first message, aren't they? I mean, they want to pay less than what they first offered.

The second message I received asked me for my nationality and other stuff I had already answered in the message I sent.

Probably they want to contract hundreds of au pairs for looking after their only daughter. :laugh-s:

The writing is not that of an English person. It is that of a West African. I thought maybe German at first, but there are errors that could not have been made by a German.

She says they will take care of the visa. A host family cannot get you a visa. Visas are obtained from the embassy or consulate of the country you're visiting (UK) in the country where you are. Scammers commonly impersonate the Home Office or other government agencies. A real UK government's domain ends in .gov.uk.

100% Scam. One cold call email and the scammer is hoping I accept his offer. I obtained this information without using any of my real details. My email address is a throw away with the fake name I used.

Yahoo protocol in the header. So it is not helpful,
