Hi danara,

I see you have repeated your question, I'll repeat my answer ;)

I'm pretty sure they are scammers. The email addy's sound very familiar, and the [email protected] is a fake site, which I'll try to get closed down. The mails they sent to you don't sound like someone with english as a native language, and the postal adress they provide returns in other scam schemes. Stay away from these people.

You could help me getting that site down. Please provide me the headers and the mails coming from [email protected]. I will need those for evidence. I'll post below how to retrieve headers in hotmail/yahoo/gmail, if you use a different provider and are unsure on how to find headers, tell me which one and I'll guide you :)

How to retrieve headers in hotmail/yahoo:

When looking in the inbox, right click the mail you want the headers of (Don't open the mail). One of the options that appears is 'View original' or 'Show source' or 'View full headers' (or something similar). Click that, and a popup will appear with the full headers. It's a bunch of letters and numbers which look weird, but they contain info that I need to get it closed.

How to retrieve headers in gmail:

When you opened the message, you will see a small downward facing triangle next to the 'reply' button. When clicking that some options will appear, and one of them will be 'View original' or 'Show source' or 'View full headers' (or something similar). Click it, and the headers will appear in a popup.

Copy the whole thing, and post it here/PM it to me/ mail it to me.

If you are posting it here, be sure to check the headers as your email adress will be visible. You can edit your adress like this: [email protected] ==> [email protected]

Hope this helps :D

I'm glad you found us and prevented yourself from being scammed, well done!

To repeat what Michael has already told you - worldstravelagency.com is a website that has not been completed yet and that is a very strong clue that it has been set up by a scammer, and that any e-mail you receive using the worldstravelagency.com mail address, or that refers to it, is also from a scammer.

In my opinion, I have no doubt that the mails you have received from [email protected] are from a scammer. It is very likely that they are all being sent by the same person who wants to steal money from you.

Never, ever pay money to anyone who offers you a job. The only circumstance where you will have to pay money is if you require a visa, but you can only apply and pay for that by visiting a UK Consulate or Visa Application Centre in person in your own country.

A travel agent cannot arrange a visa for you, and any that say they can, are liars and scammers.

Non-EU citizens should go here to find out about obtaining a visa to work as an au pair in the UK

Yes, that is a scam mail too. It has not been written by someone who lives in the UK. You will also notice that the telephone number begins +4470 - any telephone number that begins with +4470 is not a normal UK telephone number, but a redirect number, which redirects all calls to the scammer's phone anywhere in the world. This scammer writes like a West African person, but it you post the header information for this email, we may be able to tell you exactly which country the email has been sent from.

The aupaircircle website is a new website, which has only be registered for one year. The registrant's address is California 90210 - Beverly Hills, the home to many Hollywood celebrities and other wealthy people. I'm not American, however, so I don't know whether or not it would be likely that a Beverly Hills resident would run this type of contact service for au pairs.

I would suggest, however, that if this website is frequented by scammers, then it would be best to look elsewhere for an au pair position. It would probably be safest to contact an au pair agency in your own country, preferably one which you can visit in person.

Ideally, you would be looking for an agency with is a member of the International Au Pair Agencies Association (IAPA) or (if you are hoping to come to the UK) the British Au Pair Agencies Association (BAPAA), because, if you choose to use one of these, there will be certain safeguards in place already.

I am not a UK immigration or visa expert, but I know a lot more than the scammers who have been contacting you.

If you are not an EU citizen then it is going to be hard for you to obtain a visa to work in the UK as an au pair. That is how the rules are. A scammer won't change that fact because he is only interested in stealing your money.

My concern is that unless you follow Chris Fuller's advice, you will only ever receive replies from scammers.

Yes, this is a scam too. If you can post the headers of the email, we can have a look at them and maybe we can find out where the scammer lives. If you don't know how to get the headers, just ask.

Being a victim doesn't mean you stand alone. We're here to help you.

how to do it?
by GomerPyle Tue Jun 15, 2010 4:12 pm
There are certain specific requirements that are not mentioned in that mail, that the host would have to know, or you would not even qualify for an au pair visa for the USA.

Working as an au pair is quite a responsible job and is no longr the sort of employment that you can informally arrange over the internet. Even as a UK citizen I cannot work, or be an unpaid volunteer with children in the UK without undergoing in depth background and police checks.

What Chris Fuller stated earlier in this thread will help you to understand what will be expected of you if you want to be employed as an au pair, and enable you to avoid scammers.
