So, I am reporting a scam that was laid for me a couple of weeks ago. I received this text from a “Kyle Roger” at (407) 536-7964:

Good Day

I'm Kyle Roger,am hearing impaired.I would love to know if you can handle website design for a new company and also if you do you accept credit cards ?? kindly get back to me ASAP so I can send you the job details.

Regards

Kyle Roger

After a few more texts and I realized this was probably a scam to get me to use a stolen credit card for the thief. You can read about the whole episode and see all the texts and emails I received at my blog:

Yes, you are correct, it is a scam. They will give you a stolen credit card number and ask you to charge it for more than what your fees are, and have you forward the extra to someone else. When the credit card company is notified by the victim there will be a chargeback and you will be left holding the bag. I'm glad to see that you recognized the scam and thank you for sharing!
