Interested in ordering your works

Recieved this email and was suspicious but answered to see what happened. Ms Cindy Owen says she lives in BRUNSWICK, Georgia in the United States, wanted to buy 2 works and have them sent by her personal shipper - then I stopped the conversation, it´s just as earlier spams to artists sent from Grant Crawdrey in Australia.

and thanks for reporting this scam. It will be valuable for other artists.

To other readers:
This is an intended overpayment scam. The criminal will pay either with stolen credit card details or a counterfeit cheque, and the amount will be a lot more than the price for the artwork. The artist will be asked to send this additional amount to the "shipping company" which is actually the scammer with a different identity or an accomplice. The artist's bank or the credit card company will sooner or later realise that this is a fraud and reclaim their money, and very likely they will contact the police to go after the artist for fraud.

This scam also applies to photographers. Sorry I have seen warnings over this but it's in the past so dont know where at present.

I would also ask him to get in touch with you via email for him to have some details from you about how the shipment of the works is going to be a success. Do let me know whenever my shipping agent contact you.

In the second letter Mrs. Cindy Owen didn't even notice that I attached images to my first reply.
Also Mrs. Cindy Owen didn't understand the images I sent. I sent 3 images, including a CHART of various works and she wanted to order all 3 works. The person that say he/she is Mrs. Cindy Owen doesn't even look at the artworks since I attached a chart of various works to select from and Mrs. Cindy Owen wanted to buy the chart as an artwork, well...

I mentioned shipping costs with specialized art shipper, in my first letter but this seemed to be totally ignored.

The second letter also repeats in a very strange way the same message as in the first letter.

Bad english:

Thanks ... I am doing pretty well. It is good to be spiritual because that helps in terms of everything. Connecting to God always is the best thing to be doing. Anyway I will wait till you send me jpeg images of available works of yours and of such price range of 500 to 1000 euros so I can chose the ones I'll purchase. My daughters are doing great and work seems busy. Everything is perfect according to how God wants things to be. So Praise God.
