Hello David,
I just got informed by our finance manager that the payment has been effected into your account, but unfortunately the finance manager issued the payment for another goods our customer also ordered for along with the goods for your company.

The amount sent to you was £47,380.75 (FOURTY-SEVEN THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED EIGHTY POUNDS AND SEVENTY-FIVE PENCE) instead of £17,380.75 (SEVENTEEN THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED EIGHTY POUNDS AND SEVENTY-FIVE PENCE)as in the proforma invoice. Kindly check with your financial department and get back to me soonest.

Regards

Welcome, canford.

This looks like a slight variaton of a typical overpayment scam. The fake third parties are usually shippers and they indicate they have intentionally added the money in, rather than it being accidental. Regardless, it's an overpayment scam. That's quite a lot of money they're trying to get, as well. Did they use a bank transfer? If you have information on the scammer's bank account, please do send it to us and we can report it. You can email it to me at Jillian AT scamwarners.com

Thank you for posting this. Can you please add the email address(es) the scammer is using?

Have you sent a payment to a scammer with Western Union and now realize it's a scam? If the payment has not been picked up, you can cancel it immediately! 1-800-448-1492

All be aware of this e-mail address. This is used by a scammer who orders from third parties asking for bank details so they can transfer funds and then reclaim larger funds or requesting goods by personal collection on the day of the transfer. The transfer will then bounce back due to bad spelling, figure discrepancy or fraudulent bank drafts.
Posting from being one of their victims. :yikes:
