Just an update from my side. I did receive a refund cheque and checked my bank this morning and the cheque did clear. So I did get my money back after I lodged a complaint with Fair Trade. That is the only way you will get anything back people! Just lodge at Fair Trade and never ever order there again!!!

 I am yet another victim of the http://www.petfood247.com.au site :(

I paid them almost $300 and have waited for 6 and a half weeks for my goods :(

I have emailed and left messages without response :(

I have sent them a final message before I contact the OFT. I am very sad it had to come to this.

Hopefully I will be able to get my money back.

As recommended by many victims (myself included) - go to Fair Trading Website

http://www.fairtrading.nsw.gov.au/

and make a complaint!

You should hear from them (probably Viv) pretty quickly and they will contact 'Petfood247'.

My complaint was resolved in less than a week following my complaint and I've also seen several others on Scamwarners telling similar success!

MAKE COMPLAINTS IMMEDIATELY - Fair Trading is dealing with this company. Hopefully every victim realises they should not just give up!

Well I have a good news story…..regarding my Frontline for dogs . It does not involve Fair Trading

I will state my story again so people don’t have to go back a page ….

I ordered on the 2nd of August in the afternoon.

I received a dispatch notice on 6th August also on the same day the money came out of our account.

Didn’t hear anything for a while. Decided to ring the landline number on Wednesday 18th of August . Was told it should have been here on the 11th of August… and it was defintely despatched on 6th August . Was told it would be sorted out with Australia Post and another one would be sent the next day. I wonder if there are issues with Australia post ?

And just like he said, this morning the 25th August the Frontline arrives . It was the correct amount and it had an expiry date of 2012 .

So before you go on about how this is a scam blah blah… ring the landline number and see what it going on with your order. Office of Fair Trading should not be the first option.

Look at some of the earlier posts, and you'll find that contacting the firm directly has had little effect. We (Scamwarners) have never said it's a scam, just very poor customer service. One satisfied customer doesn't change that.

When I did not receive my order I contacted them by phone and got the message about the phone box was full and my e-mail bounced because that was full. I became nervous that this was a scam. ScamWarners and several other sites warning that it was not good.I cContacted my bank to ask them to stop payment by my credit card which means that I have to make a formal complain and accept that I will have to pay a fee if subsequently it proves to be okay an transection.

I also contacted New South Wales office of fair trading. A few days later I received the goods with an invoice which showed that they had been posted the day after they were contacted by the office of fair trading.

So it appears to be a case of appalling bad service, not answering phones or e-mails, and taking action as soon as office of fair trading contact contacts the company.

My advice therefore it is that you should get in touch with New South Wales office of fair trading if you have problems.

Just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to everyone that posted useful info about this website.

I too made a purchase on Monday 23rd Aug and paid via credit card same day, but then I tried the phone and email details on the website three days later to no avail. Being an impatient person, I started searching the web and found this site and started reading through all the posts. The person that posted the Landline number is an absolute godsend! I rang the landline and got told Gary would be there around 5pm, I rang about 5.20pm on Weds 25th Aug and Gary answered, asked me for my order number and told me it would be delivered tomorrow afternoon (being Thurs 26th Aug) via Fastway couriers (I'm in Sydney, so it wasn't going far). P.S. I was perfectly pleasant, made no threats, merely asked when I could expect delivery of my order. (I figured I could get nasty later if necessary)

I checked my email Thursday morning and there was a dispatch email showing the following information:
Order was received 23/08/10 11:15 AM
Viewed 25/08/10 5:21 PM
Dispatched 26/08/10 7:45 AM
Paid 23/08/10 11:15 AM

3:30pm Thurs 26th Aug (today) Fastway couriers dropped off my $200 order (the box was a little squashed, but the contents were perfect).

Thanks to all the folks on here, I managed to place the order and receive it within the same week!!! Can't thank you all enough :=) Just thought it might help some of you out there to know that it's not a lost cause.

After literally a dozen emails and voicemail messages to Petfood 247 I finally contacted Office of Fair Trading NSW.
To my delight and surprise my goods arrived today by mail. It appears that the sainted Vivian from OFT rang McDuff and stirred things along for me. Much relief as losses of this kind are hard to take as a pensioner.

DO keep emailing McDuff and DO contact OFT. Don't give up!

I do not understand this man. He is obviously keen to do business but simple communication with his customers would prevent all the angst and worry. No-one wishes to harass him :oh-joy: but he continually puts himself in this position with hopeless customer relations. In the future I will pay a little more for my pets needs by ordering from a reputable source but will gladly do so to avoid the hassles. My blood pressure wouldn't handle too much of Mr McDuff.

I think that rhettsenior's post sums up the general situation. The seller's website appears to make unrealistic claims about how long it will take for customer's to receive their goods and, because of this, they generate a mountain of customer complaints, negative publicity and suspicion that they aren't operating honestly.

My own belief is that they should either try harder to honour their claims (if possible), or be more realistic on what customers can reasonably expect.

The current situation, I believe, is untenable as they have effectively adopted the NSW OFT department as their own consumer complaints department, which is quite bizarre and presumably not their intended function. Having said that the NSW OFT are to be applauded for their work in assisting unhappy customers and seeing that they eventually receive their goods, but I can't comprehend how a business can expect to prosper with so many customer stating that their first purchase is going to be their last.

Whenever payment is requested by Western Union you're dealing with a scammer

I've said this before and I'll say it again because I believe it explains the actions of this company. For some reason it appears to have a cash flow problem. One way to alleviate this is for them to receive payment and then delay shipping the goods for as long as they can. The goods would be stocked by the company probably on the day of dispatch to you or me. They get the use of our money for as long as they can be delaying delivery.

It's called using OPM (other people's money) - it's cheap because there are no borrowing charges.

In the long run it all unravels and the company goes belly up

The company's intentions are probably good, but they are forced into a way of doing business that will eventually be their undoing.

It's sad but it happens.

I'm yet another victim of the super dodgy PETFOOD247.

Placed an order for sentinel dog chews on 3rd August, then send chase up emails 17th, 19th, 20th, 24th August, not one single reply.

Then called the mobile number on the website about 10 times, every single time it rings out and says the voicemail is full so I can't even leave a message.

Have just stumbled on this site and registered a complaint with NSW Office of Fair Trading, shortly after stumbled across the direct number and gave that a go. A guy did answer the phone and said 'oh, you should have had that 3 weeks ago' ... but then quickly said he'd sent out a replacement in the morning.

So shall see what happens, but having ran a business myself for many years the way he acted means it was never sent and he was hoping not to send it out at all .. most definitely a scam imo that should be shut down fast.

So.....after lodging my complaint with OFT, the lovely Viv called me back to say she'd spoken with PETFOOD247 and that my refund cheque would be 'in the post' today.

That was 2 weeks ago.

I lodged a dispute with my bank very easily yesterday and then today actually managed to get through to the numpty at PETFOOD247 who said 'oh....you should have had your refund cheque by now.' No kidding me genius!

Anyway, I told him I'd lodged a dispute with the bank and that I'd drop it as long as I received my refund.

He said he'd put another cheque 'in the post' today.....so, do you reckon I'll get my cheque in the next couple of days??

I'm not so sure.... :x

I had Vivian return my call on 8th September to say that she'd talked to the owner and my stuff would be in the mail that day and I should receive in a few days.

All of a sudden I get a 'Your order had been dispatched' email saying:
Order was received 3/08/10 11:23 AM
Paid 3/08/10 11:23 AM
Dispatched 8/09/10 9:32 AM

What a joke ...

Anyway, 6 days later and still no receipt of anything so will have to chase it yet again. Will wait until tomorrow but then that's a week to get here which is way longer than it should take .. seems he's getting slacker with even sending stuff out after being chased up by OFT.

Hi,
just another complaint to add to the long list. Like many others, I phoned (answer machine) and emailed the company after about a month without news of my order being dispatched. I then received an email saying it had been sent, but now 3 weeks later nothing has arrived. I'll hassle some more, as have others who posted on this list.
Thanks, wish I'd seen this before...obviously I wouldn't recommend this supplier!
