I received a reply from [email protected] going by the name Bud Quinn. Here is a transcript of our correspondence.

Bud: hello do you still have the vacuum posted online and what is the price?

Me: I so still have it. We're asking $200.

Bud: good with the price..i will be paying using cashier check and i will include my movers money and after the check has been cashed, my mover will come for pick up. are you ok with that?

Me: I would prefer to deal with cash only.

Bud: i prefer cash and pick up but i can't on a hospital bed, and i can only pay check, kindly send me the name and address you want on the check

Me: (I sent him my name and address)

Bud: Once check cashed then you can release it.You can remove the Add online now and moving funds would be included in the check im sending to you,its pretty more expensive for me sending two separate checks, and also its safer for me because it ensures they actually come get it at the right time so,when you get the check cashed you can write a receipt.........drop me your cell number so i can easily update you once the check delivers

I have not sent him my cell number yet because I'm worried this might be a scammer. I'm worried I might already be in trouble because I gave him my name and address. Please advise!

It's a scam. The cheque you are being sent will be fake and the scammer is hoping that it won't be discovered until you have sent the excess funds to his "mover".

The best thing to do is just block the scammer and disappear. When the cheque arrives, you can refuse delivery of it or turn it over to the authorities, but do not attempt to deposit it.

Please do not tell scammers that they are listed here - it will take them seconds to change their fake details and their new details will not be listed for any future victims to find.
