i've been in contact with this guy for about two weeks now and i had a feeling this guy wasn't dealing straight with me. He send me a check from the east cost and wanted me to send money via Western Union Money Transfer so that his mover could come and pick up the product. Red Flag there, but i continued on with him anyway to see what his game was, and then the check finally came. There in my had a counter-fit check in my hand, and it wasn't all that good to be honest. i took it to my local bank to turn in the fake check so that they could take the appropriate sets, and they pointed out dozens of errors on it. I'm still in contact with this guy leading him around dragging it out just to waste his time. then it dawned on me that i could send him a virus via email to get his personal info to turn is ass in. It seems he might be new to this whole scamming thing so he might be easy to catch.

I need help here ASAP before i lose contact with him because im no hack but i was hoping someone could help me out with his guy.

Welcome Rilo,

First of all, I'm glad you weren't scammed.

We cannot condone sending computer viruses to scammers. For starters, it is illegal--and even if it wasn't, it wouldn't catch the scammer. The check may have been mailed from the US, but the scammer behind this is going to be located in Africa or Malaysia, far beyond the reach of American law enforcement. There is a tremendous amount of international red tape involved just to get these crimes investigated--and lots more and ic3 (the team responsible for handling this type of crime) is not going to even attempt to launch an international investigation if there hasn't been a significant (tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands) loss. And that's before dealing with the requirements for extradition.
In addition, the scammer is likely using a computer he doesn't own, in an internet cafe.

Since this scammer has your real life information, it is not a good idea to play with him--you don't need him trying to retaliate in some way. While he isn't going to show up on your doorstep, you just don't need the headache he can cause. Playing with scammers is called scambaiting, and should only be performed when you anonymous. We have a whole site devoted to scambaiting, 419eater.com , where you can learn all about baiting and how to make a scammer's life miserable!
