I am selling a ring on craigslist and got this email today:

hi is this ad still available for sale ?

My reply (note, I was already suspicious just by the email):

It is.

His reply:

Am satisfied with the listed price
how old is this item ?
Do you have PayPal account??
Payment will be made Via My PayPal
Account cos its very secure and safe to receive Money in an online
transaction.Get back to me with your PayPal email Id so i can send
the money into your account ASAP.And you will help me with the
shipping to Michigan in which i will cover the cost.

My reply:

Do you really think people still fall for this shit? Dumb ass! I just reported you.

BEWARE of DARREN A. GREEN, email address [email protected]. He is a scum-sucking scammer!

Welcome to Scamwarners. Some people do fall for these scams unfortunately. Only a very small percentage, but that's a small percentage of very very many scam emails.

Thanks Arnold! You're right, unfortunately it does happen and sometimes, they are very smooth about the way they do it, but I am very very cautious now and will only deal in cash transactions in an open, public spot!
