just got hit today! my 1st time. feel like such an idiot.
was selling an item - craigslist
got email she wanted to buy, janet scoffy, for her boyfriend
in NewCastle, Wyoming.
long story short
when I sent the item I put MY return house address!! I didn't feel comfortable about putting my return address, but you have to......oh, and I even paid for insurance plus shipping.. $50.

I called and they cannot stop it when it's gone into transit with our postal service. I'm in canada.. it went to US.

I'll call anti-fraud crime unit in the morning.

Welcome to ScamWarners am_done. I am sorry you were taken in by this scammer. I would contact the police in the city you sent the item to to enlist their help. Undoubtedly, you are not the only person sending items to this address.

Some scammers are very good at faking information.

The person who is receiving the item you sent is most likely not real aware they are part of a scam. The scammer lies to them too. they are often called "mules" because they do all of the work. In any event, you may be able to help get this part of the scam shut down.

I moved your post so it can have its own replies as this is an important topic.

Please post up the email address of the scammer and the headers from the emails.

Rest in Peace 24 June 2015.

Gone, but never forgotten.

Hi am_done. A thought for you is, are you able to contact the post office in NewCastle (or wherever the package has been sent). If you explain the situation, perhaps they can stop delivery to the receiver, perhaps?
