Craigslist, Ebay and other online buying/selling scams.

I received a e-mail reply to an ad I posted on craigslist and was wondering if it is a scam. Here is what I got:

Thanks for the price given, still at the range, and am okay with the
price. Am located in cedar rapids Iowa and I want it to be a surprise
package for my father so i wont let him know anything about the item
until it gets delivered to him,i am sure he will be more than happy
with the item. I insisted on paypal because I dont have access to my
bank account online as i dont have internet banking, but i can pay
from my paypal account, as i have my bank a/c attached to it, I will
need you to give me your paypal email address so i can make the
payments asap for the item and pls if you don't have paypal account
yet, it is very easy to set up, go to www.paypal.com and get it set up
,after you have set it up i will only need the e-mail address you use
for registration with paypal so as to put the money through..

Thanks

Welcome to ScamWarners danielkostjr, yes that is a scam. Any time the responder doesn't name the item and dictates to you how he is going to pay for "the item", it is a scammer. Scammers also like to be shipping the item some place away from where you are.

Please post up the email address the scammer used to communicate with you. It will help others who might run across this scammer.

Just stop communicating with this scammer. All you would get is a forged check and some wasted time. Don't tell him about this site as he will become more educated.

Do post up the email address though.
