Hey everyone,

I have been checking the following website: http://www.aovele.com
and they have some pretty damn good rates for iPhone 4/4s. Really wondering if it's a scam. I've spoken to the sales rep and asked if i can use Escrow but he/she did not agree and insisted i pay through Western Union. I know that's not safe as they could just take my money and never send me anything. I don't intend to pay either through that method but just wanted a heads up if im just wasting my time.

Also, is Escrow safe or is it possible to get frauded through that too?

Thanks in advance!

p.s I'm new here, first post as you can see so be nice =D

Hello sulmar!

The site was registered in 2011 and expires in 2013. With a little searching looks like your question has been asked before.

The easy answer is if it's too good to be true it is. Your not going to buy a new iPhone for less than retail price period. These phones are high in demand and typically if your buying without a contract from a cell phone company (an unlocked phone) you are going to pay more than retail cost.

Never buy anything with Western Union. You have zero recourse if the seller does not send you your purchase.
Scammers often use fake escrow sites so be very careful when a seller mentions this.

Only safe way is to physically go to a store or buy from a reputable online store. Expect to pay full price though if your buying a premium product.

Hi sulmar. I too would urge you caution. The aovele.com site is currently hosted in the Netherlands on a server with the IP 95.211.62.94 which is hosted by ISP LeaseWeb B.V. The site is estimated to receive 143 visitors per day. The value of aovele.com is 305 USD and makes $0 USD a day.
From what I've learnt, fraudulant behaviour happens in relation to Escrow services too.
www.escrow-fraud.com keeps an updated list of the escrow scam sites and legitimate sites. Visiting this site will help you better protect yourself when transacting on the Internet.
I would agree the only safe option is to buy the item from a reputable trusted online store. Or better still from your local shopping centre. Another factor in buying products locally is if a warranty problem arises. It is so simple to deal with your immediate retailer than someone half a world away. Although I do concede online pricing is an attractive option to many.

I checked the site as I am in search for some products from China, I could never guess that this is a scam site, I guess I am taking too much pride in my skills, scammers are working really hard to scam people, worth $305 :yikes:
