Welcome to ScamWarners biker and it is great you recognized this as a scam. We do not teach or support messing with scammers here. On our sister site www.419eater.com we do teach how to safely mess with scammers.

In most cases, the scammer has personal information about you which does not make messing with them from your normal email address. Thank you for being a member here.

I am selling a boiler on Gumtree and have also had a response from Chris Brenda.
I am not sure what aroused my suspicion (poor language, repeating himself and no haggling !!) but I thought I would search his name and was obviously directed to this website!
My responses from him have been a near word for word match to the entries you have posted.

Do you mind if I ask how your sale with him concluded?
Also - at the risk of sounding naive (and stupid), if this guy pays for my goods via Paypal, what are the risks to me? That he could pick up the goods and then recall the money by pretending he had not received the items?
The only information he has from me is my private hotmail address and my Paypal email address.
Is this enough information for me to be scammed ?

Thank you

Hello BigStu78 welcome to scamwarners and thanks for posting. I am glad you spotted the scam and researched it.

What you have received is a Scam Script. The scam will have you send a Paypal Invoice / paypal email address to the Scammer he in return will send you fake Paypal notifications of payment made. He will will have some very good and believable screenshots of Paypal. Yet, they are fake. The only way to prove a payment was sent is to log into Paypal directly not through any links sent. Better yet, call PayPal once again not through any links.

The scam is that the scammer wants your item, over payment or send monies to a shipper by way of Western Union.

The script would say that you have to provide MTCN number / Tracking number in order for your money to be released. That is untrue with Paypal.

Thanks for posting. Please post the header of the email and email address used this time for Chris Brenda. It would help others when they search.

Thank you for the advice.
I shall await for his next response!
I would never have released the goods based on some vague screenshot from Paypal, as I know how to use the service. I was more concerned with the level of fraud that could be committed with the information I had already provided -which isn't much.
He apparently wants to collect it, which will be interesting!

I will keep you updated.
