Craigslist, Ebay and other online buying/selling scams.

I was trying to sell a bike on craigslist and received these two emails. The second one didn't seem right to me so I Clicked on her name, which I'm sure is fake, and there were two different email addresses ([email protected], [email protected]) They used the name Susan Longneker. I never replied to the second email after reading some of the posts on here and just wanted to make people aware of these scammer email addresses. I also searched the email addresses and the second one is all over the net as a scammer email.

The first email: Is it still available and in good condition?

I replied: yes it is.

The second email: Thanks for your swift response,I am highly interested in purchasing this from you and I will appreciate more pictures......I am buying this as a surprise promise Gift and I am more than willing to offer you the amount you required.I can only pay through PayPal at the moment as I don't have access to my bank account online(I don't have internet banking with it), but I have it attached to my PayPal account and this is why I insisted on using PayPal to pay,all I will need is your PayPal email address so as to make the payment but if you don't have a PayPal account yet,you can set one up at www.paypal.com it cant take you less than 3mins to do that,I will be expecting your PayPal email as soon as possible also I have a pick up agent that will come for the pick up after payment has been sorted.

l will be waiting for your reply asap

Hello adamjoe and welcome to scamwarners,

You are 100% correct it is a scam. You were correct in spotting it. :=)

The paypal payment would have been fake from a fake paypal email address. No money would have been transferred into your Paypal account. The fake Paypal email is believable with phony screenshots. The best way to verify funds in you paypal account is to log in directly without any links.

This scammer was hoping you would not verify his lies. He would later send email from the fake paypal address telling you the funds are on hold until you ship the item and send him a tracking number.

Paypal hold is a lie. And he is setting you up for future western union payments to him / shipping agent. He want your item and / or money.

Please note: You may receive more scam inquiries. The scammer will have the same basic tactic. Instead he wants to send you a fake check or Money Order.

Please contacta moferatorstor if you have a question or information about this post.

Please do not tell the scammer he is posted here.
