Hi All,
Beware this email:

[email protected]

Here is the letter:

"Thanks for your quick response and am also excited to hear from you
that the vehicle is still available for sale and thanks for the
details you gave about the vehicle, am quite delighted to hear from
you that the vehicle is still in great conditions. Since all the
details you put on the advert are updated and real,i think there is
nothing to worry about and also i want you to know that i won't be
able to come for the inspection of the car as am a very busy man
I am a Civil Engineer with a lot of commitments, but i am fully
satisfied with the description that i saw on the auto trader website.
I just want a second Car for my wife, I am away from home, presently
in Germany for a technical construction for some of my clients

I have shown my wife the car via email, i also copied the link of the
pictures of the Car to her and she really likes the vehicle

Please accept my offer of £3500.00 which I think is fair enough for
the car, because i know the worth of the vehicle and more so what
you’ve stated about the vehicle details in the advert page and the
maintenance of the vehicle you’ve spent so far since you bought the
vehicle, am also offering you the amount to be the highest bidder for
the pretty vehicle. Please accept my offer and say NO to other buyers.
I will take care of the shipment, I have a private shipping company
who’s going to handle it professionally for me, both the shipping cost
and other necessary activities concerning the shipment of the vehicle
would be from my purse.

My preferred method of payment is by bankers draft or Cheque in a
(GBP) that’s the only option and safest way for me to transfer CASH
which am going to instruct my business associate to post you a bankers
draft via post office. The bankers draft is going to clear in your
bank within 3 to 5 working days before i shall take the possession of
the vehicle
I hope to hearing back from you today in order to proceed further with
the payment and shipping arrangements as soon as possible. I did NOT
request for your bank details.
Bankers draft only required your FULL NAME and your POSTAL ADDRESS. In
my next email i shall let you know the details that is required from
you to enable the bankers draft gets to you by post office. I look
forward to hearing back from you today.

Cheers

Bouna"

Hi Jussy /all
Busy man, this Mr Condoul, yesterday he sent me an almost identical letter for a car I'm advertising on AutoTrader.
BTW Bouna Condoul is also (by coincidence) the name of a prominent Senegalese goalkeeper. :?
I don't think I will bother to reply to him.
Cheers

Hi,

I to have may car advertised on auto trader and on thursday 9th, first received an email expressing interest in my car and then a further email almost identical to the one above, I have also received emails regarding payment and shipping.
Can u tell me any details of this scam?
by Dotti Sat Aug 11, 2012 10:13 pm
The scammer wants to send you a check for the cost of the car plus "shipping." He will ask you to cash the check, and send the "shipping" money, most likely via Western Union or Moneygram, to the "shipper" (who is really the scammer himself or a mule.) The problem is, the check will be fraudulent. The scammer is counting on the fact that most people think a check has "cleared" if the bank issues cash. In reality, the bank may issue the cash before the check is cleared, and if you withdraw the money and then the check is found to be fraudulent, you can be held accountable for the entire cost of the check, including any money you sent to the fake "shipper." Plus, you can find yourself in legal trouble, as passing counterfeit checks is a crime.

The scammer's real purpose is to use you to turn a fraudulent check into cash. He doesn't want the car at all.

Hi All,
My car is (unfortunately!) still on the market, and when I renewed the ad on 'Loot' yesterday, this one was with me in minutes!

Hello, i saw your post & am interested, pls kindly get back to me with the final asking price you want to sale it.. my phone number +44 7031995725

Interesting that he offered a phone number, although I did not call, already noticing the cliched pattern.

Typically his reply was:
kindly get back to me with your final asking price on here because am a busy someone presently in the ship sailing and my shipper will be coming for the pickup in your location after completed with the payment with you

The address he was using:

[email protected]

If anyone is out there looking for a business opportunity, perhaps they should start a legitimate mechanism for all these unfortunate marine engineer types to buy their cars..... :)
