Craigslist, Ebay and other online buying/selling scams.

Beware of a Renault Master R2 on ebay. This was listed as a 'Classified' listing by nickie.warner2012. I then had an email from 'Rachel' assuring me that I was covered by ebay and that they would send me a payment request and she would deliver the horsebox. I was suspicious as the box was cheaper than similar models but others may be caught out. I contacted ebay and the listing has been removed but no doubt they will be back to con others!

Thank you for posting this! and I also noted this scam. I actually spotted this advert on Horse Deals and I didn't think that sending email could do any harm! It had been on there since the 25/08 and had over 3000 views. Three days later I receive a reply from S Durant and he claims that the box is available for £4200 (about 10k less than what you would expect it to be) and it's in Glasgow and must be purchased via Pay Pal.
I advise that I will not purchase anything without viewing, and I then receive a reply advising he is on an oil rig in Spain and that it can be delivered for an additional £200. I advise I am not interested and I receive another email with a link to 'Ebay buyer protection policy' It's obvious that this is a scam, but the emails are written in very good English and he is persistent and convincing.
I had already told him my location in my first email enquiry and the horsebox was listed as being in Leicestershire. In his reply he asked where my location was? and the advert phone number (although I didnt ring it) was an 0161 Manchester number. The box is currently in Scotland, and he is on an oil rig in Spain?? ummm!!
Please be aware, as this seemed like such a good deal, but if something is too good to be true then it probably is!!
This was a 3.5 t 57 Renault master horsebox conversion
Thanks

I have just had the same experience as you, with the exact same emails regarding the horsebox as you with the new Renault master conversion. The details are to a t!

If its too cheap to be true, and the owner or the item is in another country, its ALWAYS a scam!

Wow! I need you and thank you for the information.

I am SO GLAD YOU BURST MY BUBBLE

So I can close this chapter with no more fretting, right? Thanks so much for your help.
